Hey guys,

Been stalking the forum for years im normally a euro guy had several BMW's over the years and still got a BMW wagon currently getting engineered etc but i have also picked up myself a R34 GTT. Plans for the R34 are a street/track combo but abit more track based so road comfort and drivability arent too much of an issue should also note going for grip combo not sliding..... did drift im no good at it im gonna stick to grip work lol

Im currently on my P's in SA and have been given excemption to drive turbo to and from work etc so my missus is going to be driving it to the track or throwing it on a mates car trailer. But im currently collecting everything to do some performance upgrades and hopefully reach a comfy 300rwkw, i have so far collected TOG exhaust manifold, TD06 20G 8cm internally gated Kinugawa, 660cc injectors, PFC + Controller, FMIC(Fitted), Z32, Walbro 255, Split dump(Fitted), Down pipe(fitted), 3" 100 cell cat(fitted) so its pretty close to all being there ready to go just waiting till full licence to fit it all.

So currently im working on improving the grip of it. I have fitted adjustable Lower front and rear arms, front radius arms/castor arms, rear toe rods and there all rose jointed. Ive fitted some bendix SRT Pads and HEL braided brake lines and a brake master cylinder stopper and im running Kumoh KU36 semis. im going for whiteline 27mm front sway and whiteline 24mm swaybars there currently on order it already has some HKS coilovers in it and a good diff but oneday might go a KAZZ 1.5way. currently im looking into different bracing i can do to the shell so front and rear strut braces under body braces etc so anyone with some knowledge give it to me!

Also anything else you can reccomend to fit would be amazing! also looking into rough wheel alignment specs atm im at 7deg castor 2deg front camber 0.5deg rear camber

I seriously doubt he's got an exemption, he'd just be one of the few who risk having there cars impounded/crushed plus several years of loss of license, just to get a turbo car a few years earlier... I dunno, maybe its just me but it doesn't sound like its worth it.

Unless he registers it in his parents name (or older full licensed driver) and plays dumb once pulled over? I dunno probably won't stop the impound/fine/loss of license.

Nice car though, should have paid the extra $100 and got the 1000cc's as the 34 gtt is a top feed rail.

Basically you have to apply to Motor reg here in SA and tell them your situation and they will determine if you have legitimate reason to need to drive the car or if you dont. Mine is the fact that my other daily my wagon is defected and its the only other car i own so they gave me the exemption but i have had a couple of mates denied an exemption before

No for the exemption your not allowed to have performance mods and if you do you have to tell them. so i told them it has a turbo back exhaust upgrade and a FMIC setup and they have said that that is fine. there not fussed about any suspension modifications for the permit so none of that matters. thats why im currently collecting everything to get the 300kw but waiting till i get my full licence to install it all as i said in the first post..... Also i got the 660's because i paid $50 for them won them in an auction on ebay will receipt for the service on them and spray pattern and flow test sheet so for $50 i figure if they are 80% or above im going to get some ID1000's but im not too fussed if some ID's come up ill buy them but i have another 6 months till i get my full licence

Yeah if its not a motorsport build then theres the Projects, Overhauls and Builds section.

There are model specific forums for other less common models in the Vehicle Specific Discussion section.

thankyou sir! I will start a thread now and hopefully get some pics soon I work in a fabrication shed and ive been using my car to teach me abit more stainless and aluminium tig work so will try get some pics of that too

Hi Guys

new here, just joined SAU Vic recently, like others, have always liked Skylines, currently have a modified r33 gtst s2 , interested in the track side of things, looking at doing a lot more modifications, in the near future. at the moment trying to make the mods that I've done, work efficiently

Welcome Adam :)

maybe start up a build thread and introduce yourself and your car, and in the thread explain your problems and I'm sure someone will be able to solve your efficiency dilemmas.

    • @DraftySquash @Duncan he's not talking about the part that sits against the radiator support, he’s talking about the lip that sits towards the front outside of the car. anyway I had a look at other cooling panels and came across this one https://justjap.com/products/carbing-radiator-cooling-panel-plate-nissan-skyline-r34-gt-t?variant=37829684134087&currency=AUD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=Advanced feed&utm_content=Carbing Radiator Cooling Panel Plate fits Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T (Coupe)&srsltid=AfmBOoonzPDKqe9NgKi5U0AkFc2XvbXETGmNWvfNcyBT5DUZagMYHg9DZ70 if you take notice it’s the same shape.  well thankfully the justjap listing has a description and it says : - Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T Coupe (M/T -07/2000) this means it’s specifically for a s2. S2’s have different front bars to s1 so that lip with the 3 holes are *probably* mounting points for the s2 bar. im not 100% sure but im almost certain it will still fit a s1 bar
    • Everyone is too used to learning from places like HPA "how to tune" and what to expect at what point, rather than being able to see "The computer says I'm in cell with Row = 8, column =4, and I can see my fuel is lean, so lets add more" Everyone wants "real units", which helps for someone picking it up for the first time and seeing how bad the tune is if they're not used to touching it.   However, I think for most of us who want to play with it, you're 100% right, we're only needing to learn about it for OUR CAR. Which makes it great, and we don't need to care what the real values are, we just need to know which cell it is, that's causing the lean or rich point, or that we want more ignition timing or less. But again, everyone wants everything super you beaut and nearly self tuning, with VE maps, and a billion compensations...   Though then there's me over here when I'm doing reverse engineering work just reading data in hex format that most people couldn't work anything out from. Yet I can see what's going on.
