Anyone work in the CBD? Thankfully I'm across the bridge in North Sydney but still a bit too close for comfort in any aspect.

I'm in the CBD. As are Matt, Aggro and Lizbert.

Time will tell if the level of activity is appropriate or not. In cases like these, I think there is no clear appropriate response level while the event is unfolding.

Personally, I just can wait to go home.

What was this piece of dirt doing outta Jail?!

In fact why was he even in an Australian Jail?

If he's not an Australian citizen he shoulda been deported!

Legal system in this country really needs a shake up. The judge who released this germ back into society has alot to answer for!

Not only that but people harp on about refugees etc coming to this country (or boat people), yes some are genuine, but some do not want a "fresh start", they want to expand their hatred for the west.

This guy came to Aus as a refugee in 1996. I'm not really sure what more proof the hippy left wing human rights phags need in order to understand our tough border protection system.

I agree 100% with you Steve.

I dont understand why the government is so set in filling this country up with migrants? As far as im concerned we're full! Australia is for Australians how bout saving a spot for my young bloke and his family when the time comes?

Legally migrating to Australia is tough. How do psychos like this make it into Aus is a question in itself, but if you commit crimes, there should be tougher penalties. Problem then goes to where to "hold" such people?

Let the good in, kick the bad out.

FYI: My family migrated here in 1995, I was 6 then.

I don't understand how lenient the judicial system is here in Australia. I mean, people come INTO Australia then start yapping on about hating us? And are allowed to stay? WTF.

I've always assumed its because more people = bigger economy (easy way to keep growth going) = more power. If you look at population density, resources etc, compared to other countries, Australia is no-where near full, even if you take out all the useless desert. Personally I would prefer to keep the population low, but I believe expanding the population enjoys support from both sides of politics

Probably enemy of our enemy stuff - Iran didn't like him either. Totally agree his treatment by Aus legal system was way too soft. Also, definitely an Intelligence miss, but lone psychos are harder to catch.

My concern is the media coverage

will we never learn

Shine a light on it and it will grow

For media and Scipione to quote, "We have the best negotiators... " was reprehensible when MHM was watching. And now the media will print some article called "The barista, the barrister and the bastard".

MHM had no right to be out on bail. He had not right to Centrelink benefits. And he had no right to be here. But I do pray for families and friends of the barista, the barrister and the bastard.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • This lady loved her FD for 25 years!  https://www.topspeed.com/80-year-old-woman-donates-fd-rx-7-mazda/ My brother in law. He's nice enough to let me drive it whenever. He'll likely not see this, but I'll try: @r-is-for-fun got any pics?
    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
