What are the pros and cons of porting a RB20 Det head and keeping a stock bottom?

You won't buy a proper ecu.

So con

Very expensive to do properly

Needs proper ecu

Pro

Done properly picks up powe and response

Bottom End does nothing towards making power. Just has to stay together.

Heads cams turbos make power.

The cons are:

Is it the best use of your money

and

headwork may be aimed at a certain powerband so find out if the result will meet with your requirements for the car.

The pros are if done right and in combination with other mods and the right tune...more power!!
