Bit odd how it's a full exhaust to the dumps but with an oem cat? Could it be that the oem cat has been punched through like a lot of people do?

To keep the rear bumper clean and/or previous owner had enough of the exhaust fumes

I use a pipe through my stock cat. With approx 45 degree bend at end of exhaust pointing down and no marks at all on the bar.

I wouldn't be suppose if your stock cat is hollow.

That in NSW is an instant $10k EPA fine, cat was deliberately modded to not work :(

And for what, there is no gain from a 3" pipe to a working 5" bodied SS cat, 100 or 200 cell makes little difference

Yep. I'm in adelaide though, and never known anyone to have any trouble.

I think it's pretty common here, which is why I mentioned it.

There's not working and then there is tampered with to make not work :/

A cat with no center could be argued poor maintance, a cat with a 3" pipe welded inside has been made to not work on purpose

And as much as it would be a hard one for them to prove it was you that did it it's not worth the legal battle for no gain in performance over a good quality high flow SS cat

Though I do think the full $10k is for a company vehicle
