Merry Christmas all, Santa has brought me a fuel leak as a present which I am extremely happy about. It started yesterday when i filled my r34 gtt right up with e85, went in to pay and came out to find the fuel I had just put in was coming out onto the ground. After 5 minutes of solid leaking it stopped, so i started the car and it started leaking again not as bad though. Finally when racq came i started it and it wasn't leaking and then drove it the 5min drive home. Old mate from racq said it was my fuel pump seal but he also told me that my inspection cap for it was under my rear seat so I don't really trust him. My question is does anyone know if this is actually the case or whether there is a point half way down the tank with a seal that could have gone? Cheers

The first thing to do is trace the source of the leak. Where is the fuel coming from?

R34's come with a plastic tank that normally does not cause any problems. Is the fuel system stock or has it been modified?

There are rubber hoses with clamps on the joins around the fuel tank and any of these could be cracked or loose as could the filler hose from the tank to the filler inlet.

The fuel tank is accessed through the boot on the drivers side of the car. The seal on the top of the tack could have a problem but you would have to have the tank very full for fuel to be level with this seal.

Some pictures of where the fuel is coming from would help to diagnose your problem.
