also selling my kit as i didn't want to remove my ross balancer.

Cameron have you finished with this project or are going to try and design another kit?
has anyone thought about using factory cas for start position then something off the crank or flywheel>

Hi Robert,

At this stage I am done with the kit however if anyone is wanting custom changes etc. I am happy to work with them to produce one offs etc.

I do not at this time have room for different blocks and rotating assemblies to work on different designs.

Long time, no reply and I'm sure this will likely only help a few people but here is what I did to solve the tomei oil pump interference and smaller diameter fluidampr issue. Modified Murrayis's mount, rotated the mount, added a cylindrical spacer, tapped the actual sensor and I'll be cutting notches in my crank balancer. I'm going to go with (12x) .300" wide x .300" long and about .100" deep. The sensor is based on changes in magnetic field and should still pick them up even though the notches won't be totally through. Range on the sensor is .018-.080" inch. My .100" or so shouldn't affect it. I don't want to have a belt have the chance of getting freyed on notches.

LOL...exactly. Trust me I felt bad grinding and chopping on such a nicely machined part, but hey it's working and feels totally solid. And I left my spacer short so I can shim under it and move the sensor closer to the crank pulley if needed after I really torque it on the crank.

Hey guys just got my car tuned at horsepower solutions and wanted to share my results from this trigger kit. Brief description is its a r32 with fully built 2630 running a forced performance super 94 with all supporting mods. I used a ross balancer and trigger wheel with murrayis kit. Worked a treat with only thing to do is space it apart with shims. Below are some pics

Hmm I really want to come up with a solution that doesn't require a gaping hole in the cover...

You can always just change to a custom made single window disc for the existing CAS instead of the the Murrayis cam trigger, that's what I'm doing.

I've already got the kit and got my balancer machined and re-balanced.. I am going to get a timing cover 3d printed to suit what I need

The last one I got was about $80, but that was for a CA18. Autronic sell them so do NZ efi. Just don't connect the REF to the ECU and use the Sync off the exhaust cam.

Maybe Matt could write different code for the CAS.  The Nissan one is providing 360 degree slots plus the 5 or 6 on the other circle.  The code might be easily enough altered to expect an arbitrary number of pulses on either of those.  Or maybe it would be a horrible exercise.  I'm not too au fait with decompiling the code out of (anything really) these ECUs.

    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
    • Should have taken that opportunity to slot in a twin scroll turbo setup. Maybe next time.
