1600TI - 1800TI Sedan

In the C210 car all the series, the most inexpensive grade was "TI".

At first, only the 1600cc was available, but the 1800cc car came out at the time the Z type engine came about.

The 1800TI came equipped with a consol.

A skyline "S" was in place of the tacho in this model.

The strongest grade of TI is "S" type.

In addition to lower spec Ti's this model came with headlight washers, and rear wipers.

Shock absorbers were harder on the ES, and it also came with a rear stabilizer bar.

halogen headlights and foot rest came as standard equipment.

In the 2000 series which came in 1980 it finally came with independent rear suspension.

It was the first of the C210 seris to have the stovetop lights.

The German GT-ES was the same spec as this.,

If we assume if you buy, which will be chosen "GT" of NA?

The only difference as far as GT-ES and equipment, the "point control" on the stereo isnt fitted.

1600 stationwagon

Presently it is quite a rare body type.

Early on the GL and DX was only available in a 1600cc. Later on there was 1800cc and Diesel.

LPG spec carscame around in 1980 as well as an 1800cc version.

The rear suspension in the wagon, was leaf type springs.

The earlier wagons were of the VBC or VPC210 designation, the later model became WPC211.

Both of the above 1800cc had 5 speed floor shifts.

Dash instrument design: the van was the same as the 1600/1800TI, the wagon was identical with latter term TI-L, (no tape deck).

The LPG spec cars spare tire was moved to the side, in a vertical position.

The van and wagon had the same height roof and were externally identical.

The 1800TI van, and 1800TIwagon, were simply called van , and wagon.

However, the GL spec of the wagon was called "WagonGL"

Vehicle price (August /1800WAGON-GL 1980): 1252000 Yen

(August /2000D/VAN-GL 1980): 1156000 Yen (Nakagyo area)

The Ti range was 4 cylinder only, and got the nickname "short nose" due to the front guards being 10cm shorter behind the wheel arch.

Hi, i think the C210 came only with 14 inch wheels in 185 and 195 size.

GT and Ti 1978 catalogue

On the left of this photo are the 4 types of french made CIBIE lights.

On the right are the Oscar type 45 and type 95 line up.

In each case halogen 55W globes are used.

Just, price probably is a lot of extent to do...

There were 2 patterns of the bumper mounts.

At the bottom right is the Koito rectangular foglight

skylineti004007.jpg

Alloy wheels were available in 3 types, all in 14inch.

13inch wheels were exclusive to the Ti range.

All alloys had "GT turbo" printed on them.

Power window were an option (simple type only on front doors), roof console (for other than EX and ES), headlight washers (other than ES and E), an air purification machine and a ski carrier.

Whether these options were available on the van and wagon is unclear.

Hello All,

When I saw this thread, I felt I just had to post. I owned probably one of the nicest examples of a C210 in Australia for many years. It was in near-immaculate condition and was one of the nicest cars I have ever owned.

Pic attached.

It was interesting to see the list of options available, as I think it has solved a mystery of mine. I have a set of 14" wheels which I have never been able to source their origin. They are definitely Nissan wheels (it is cast into them) and look like 200B SX wheels, but they aren't. I now think that they are off a C211 Turbo. Pic attached of them as well.

I now own a DR30 RS 4 door, which is my rally car. Will post some pics soon!

Good to see people still sharing the Olde Skyline Lurve!

nice car mate, a little bit of info for ya, the square lights front end(like yours) is actually a c211, but nissan aust in their infinite wisdom continued to sell them with c210 vins

im assuming they had a whole lot of c210 numbered shells left, and just used the c211 updated parts list.

And yeah, that wheel in the pic is from a C211 2000GT turbo

Thanks!

But it's most certainly a great looking car and maybe you can take solace in the knowledge that, according to nissan, you owned THE MOST EXPENSIVE nissan for parts, closely followed by the Gazelle and R30.

Cheers

The wheels aren't the same as the 200B Aspen. This I know for a fact. I have never been able to find another wheel like it. I think I will just have them powdercoated and use them on my Datsun Sunny Excellent...

Yeah, I knew it was a 211, but people at AutoProBarn and the like stare at you blankly when you talk about a 211!

The most expensive Nissan, not to mention one of the hardest to find bits for! My once-girlfriend clipped the back of a Camry with the right front corner of the car one night. It took me 2 months to find a new headlight. I should have dumped her then and there, but I ended up marrying her...

A year later, some useless POS smashed a headlight with a stick (along with the lights of several other cars) - this time it took 9 months to find a replacement.

I've got a c210 2 door skyline sitting in Kalgoorlie, my mods are as follows:

R30 diff + disc brakes, brass syncro 240k gearbox 5 speed, 4 bar radiatior, Air conditioning (fitted from a later model) L280, nitrited crank, handmade timing chain, 280ZX oil pump and electric dizzy, modified inlet manifold to fit an EF falcon throttle body, Toyota crown (I think) flat top pistons, Crane Cam, ported head, (similar to the p90, but it isnt...?) Haltech F9A EFI computer, VL commadore inline Fuel pump and a Nissan Patrol (LD28) clutch.

The whole thing was ballanced prior to assembly

I put it all together with a dial micrometer setting TDC ect...

This car went like a cut snake, until the octane levels in pump super fell. She kept popping head gaskits and I got sick of replacing them, three years now the car has sat in the backyard. while I've been playing with Jaguars.

Great set of posts her, you've gotten me all nostalgic!
