Been monitoring my gpu usage using msi afterburner, and noticed that while playing assassins creed unity, my GPU memory usage was at 3.3GB, and according to msi afterburner, the GPU has supposedly reached its max memory limit, which cant be right because my GPU is 4GB not 3.

Anyone know whats going on??

Specs:
i7 4790k

GTX 970

8gb 2400mhz ram
Asus ROG mobo
1080p monitor 120hz

Oh really? The graph didnt show much headroom so thought it maxxed out, probably expands as you it 4gb.

Cheers man! OCD over this shiz haha :P

Oh btw, is it normal for a game to use more than 3GB of VRAM? Ive never encountered a game to use soo much on 1080p. Not even far cry 4 used that much. On 4k yea, but not 1080p? Poor porting by ubisoft perhaps?

Yea i heard ubisoft tend port games from consoles to PC, then dump a whole load of patches for bug fixes. Personally, i feel the graphics don't justify the amount of resources used. Dont get me wrong, the Graphics are great, but compared to games like tomb raider, battlefield 4, batman etc... assassins creed unity is pretty average.
