Hello,

I had my headlight go out so I just assumed it was the globe so I replaced it.

This didn't work so I start doing some trouble shooting.

Here is what I have so far.

1) Park light works

2) Indicator works

3) Flash high beam works

4) Lights on dip doesnt work

5) Lights on high beam doesnt work

So I checked that i was getting 12v to the head light connection and i was but as soon as I complete the circuit with the bulb the 12v stops coming in.

Then when I was driving home my light came on and worked from for awhile but was turning on and off.

Fuses look fine but I am not sure about the relay. But if it was the relay then both would have the issue.

Anyone have some ideas?

It does sound like the headlight switch but the fact you were able to flash high doesn't follow.

It should also have not worked, might have been a fluke???

As these cars run separate left and right circuits, for both to fail means the fault is upstream of the usual problem (the dipper switch) thus it points to the rotary headlight switch on the dash surround.

But the poor headlight wiring design really needs attention.

Extra relays need fitting to eliminate the high amperage loads on the dip switch and the rotary switch, not to mention the wiring.

Install a diode so low stays on with high.

You'll be surprised how much better the lights are when they get full battery voltage.

Yep I always recommend wiring in relays.

Also, headlight switch.

The R32 projectors are horrendous, you should look at doing a HID retrofit. Look here:
