To my understanding 130kw per tonne is the law. Doesn't matter if turbo or n/a.

Making the S15 Autech the best p/w ratio followed by Supra SZ and then the R33 GTS.

My friend said he has a turbo s15 aus spec. which I assume is over p/w and illegal.
I currently have r33 but I'm looking to buy the s15 autech because it's newer and cleaner. I'm on my L's atm so the new laws apply to me. (not allowed a s2k).

Cheers. (sorry if this topic has been posted before, I couldn't find specific to nsw on these cars)

Okay so I found a website that is exactly what I was looking for.
Under new laws of August 2014 in NSW

This just saved me buying a n/a s15 when I can buy a turbo s15 Spec R. :D

Even the Spec R 200SX is legal. I'm guessing that's the best P plater car.

Legal ; S15 200SX Spec R (Turbo), s15 200sx Spec S (Turbo), S S15 Autech (N/a), R33 GTS, Supra SZ

Banned; S2000, R33 GTST, WRX, Supra RZ

If anyone want to add to this list go ahead!

The best P plate car is not the one with the most power, so that you can introduce the rear of it to every gutter and front yard of every home in your street; as you live out your initial D fantasies, with your lowest common denominator skillset.

The best P plate car is the one that allows you to get off your P's with your license intact, you and your mates all still alive, and with the bare minimum of accidents due to aforementioned lack of skills.

Get something cheap, light, moderately powered and fun to drive, then spend some money actually LEARNING how to drive properly on track, so that you can make the most of a decent car; once you have matured a little and learned how to properly assess and manage risk, and the pressure of your peers.

You don't want the first mistake you make (and I promise, you will), to be your last.

I agree with the above I had an impreza on my p's and then a ke70 for my final year of my p's and then on my opens I bought my skyline. When you first get your license you do stupid things every one does.

    • Ayooo, been a while mates. I have a s2 r33 gtst and air stopped coming out of all the top vents.   My car has always made an actuator gear noise when turning the car on but that's a different issue I think? Did searches and am at process of thinking it's an actuator or some type of motor? I see a few different actuators and don't know which one. Would be nice to know if it was the one that's under the steering wheel so the dash doesn't need to come out.
    • Hi, just checking. Did you get this stuff made by Vspec Performance and at what price roughly? Looking into (sometime later) also getting such a intake kit, and Trust as well as HKS don't make a full set like this anymore.
