got it cheap cos it was dirty and small hole, will do for passenger.

got my detailer friends to clean it up for me. god it needed it.
not properly dried yet so haven't refitted.

driving round with no passenger seat is weird. my mate sat in the backseat in extra legroom limo mode and loved it :P

ok, spend a frustrating arvo putting in the drivers seat.

so for a start took out the old GTS seat and the major obvious difference is the shear weight difference.

the old seat weight compared to the new CF backed bride.

(yes its just a rep)

now, this might have been obvious to most, but i never realized and never thought of it, but the rails which fit these do not slide forward and back.
and i cannot see any simple way of attaching stock rails?
im assuming i can buy sliding rails to suit brides yes?

anywhoo

happy that i can adjust the pitch of the seat and it now sits well, heaps more headroom, not hard to get cumfy

hmmm... ok need a bolt for the seat belt .....

ahah... the totally unused gym...... ah who needs a leg lift anyway.

Another un-thought of side affect, the seatbelt is tucked right down there... can you get extensions??

also f**k this bolt.... not easy getting a bolt in somewhere its totally shielded from

20150701_162938_zpsa9filvh2.jpg

anyway, its in and im happy. its snug but comfortable and looks a little better than a gtst seat :P

I'm sceptical the bolt from the gym was the correct pitch. I suppose you got it in there, but that's dodgy as considering even if it is the correct pitch, it certainly isn't rated the same.

But looking at the shonkyness of those rails it probably wouldn't bother you ;)

Its most definitely not the propper bolt but did fit fine fir now, it will be changed shortly to follow all others to shiney high tensile gear, and i will be grabbing a sliding bride rail soon enough too. I dont often f**k about with safety.

While its off, where do i buy a good seat belt extension. Not the double up buckle type but a propper flexible mounted stalk kind?

ok, i love light and i hate stock skyline lights, their just shit.

i did replace the old bulbs with the brightest i could get which were the phillips 4000k halogens. their still shit, slightly less yellow but the light is atrocious.

i don't have the projectors as i have N1 lights which are rear reflector so i wasn't a fan of xennons,

Xennons have a bad habit of throwing light poorly in reflectors as the light source is coming from a few mm or cm further away due to the longer light tube.

however i found a new type of LED H4 bulbs which i purchased.

20150925_123439_zpsxqzvch15.jpg20150925_190945_zpsvbe0rntw.jpg

these actually center the low beam the same as stock lights and the high beam properly for a longer throw of light. also yes they do high and low beam in one unit.

as you can see, properly placed light source in comparison to the stock bulb.

low beam closer to the base and highbeam further away.

and their bright. slightly brighter or very similar to a good 6000k Xennon but no warm up, no heat and flicking high /low is instant.

this is the comparison as best as my phone could capture, it is adjusting slightly more for the brighter white but you can see in the 3rd shot which has both beams on, it drowns it out. remember this is the best philips white bulb i could get.

so tires are slowly wearing down, i dont really wanna run 17s anymore so picked up a set of XXr 527 in chromium black,
18X9.75+20.

what tire size to run im not sure yet. 265 could fit but not sure if i wanna run that on the front and i wanna keep it square.
what would a "decent" tire size be do you recon?

also, anyone interested in the enkies? 17X9+22 :)

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.
