How To Remove Anodizing From My Blue Alloy Wheel Nuts?

hi guys

i have a set of rays blue wheel nuts which i want to bring back to bare alloy - what is the easiest & most effective way to do this?

Caustic soda from Bunnings.

Only need to use sparingly or else you'll see the alloy go bye-bye as well.

thanks for the info - will this affect the integrity of the wheel nuts though? last thing i want to do is weaken or make the alloy brittle...the potential end result could be catastrophic

Nah it won't mate. However, if you use too much, the alloy will start to dissolve. I normally use 1 teaspoon in about 1/2 liter of water. Also depending on how good the anno is. If that ratio doesn't dissolve the anno, just put in a bit more.
