hi guys,

have an aftermarket boost gauge fitted and its not working so I want to pull it out. I've followed the vac line off the gauge sender to under the manifold in front of the drivers side. Its currently plugged into a nipple which seems to be giving off a little pressure (no vac).

Not sure if this is like a breather or what should actually be plugged into it. I also have the standard gauge which is working fine.

Anyone know what the nipple on the left is, and whether I can just remove the vac line and leave it open?

Cheers,

John

The one with the little blue line off it is the factory boost solenoid/wastegate feed which goes to the open pipe you can see in the back ground

Just plug it up, but where is the wastegate line coming from ?

In that case should it be plugged it into the open pipe? I'll have to check where the wastegate is getting its feed from. I've also found what seems like another two open pipes closer to the oil filter, in the middle under the intake manifold, have no idea what these are for either and what should be plugged into them (if anything).

Came looking for titties, left dissapoint.

Boost gauge is sourced off the plenum. If you can't find it, give up and pay someone to work on your car. :P

lol had to get people to look somehow. i know where the standard gauge source is/should be, but now got me stumped on how the boost controller etc has been set up.

Not on a 26 it's not, it comes off the end of the balance tube next to the fire wall

OP, no that open pipe goes to a T the to one of the two by the filter, from there it goes to the boost solenoid then back to the other one of the two which then goes around the back of the engine to the intake pipe off the rear turbo, the other side of the T goes around the back of the engine to the wastegate

So if it's not the boost controller source then just cap it

If the information is lacking, the answers won't be accurate. Nowhere did he say RB26 and the car listed is S15...

I think you should Efix it for him Mick, that way when it blows up from unlimited boost you can feel less responsible. ;)

Really, you must work on cars a lot cause even I could tell that was a 26 just from that pic

And I'm just giving him info, what he does with it is his issue

And from the info he did give that line only goes to the boost gauge so capping won't blow up his engine, unless he is wrong and it is still connected to his wastegate

Thanks for the help mate, glad some people on here are still interested in providing useful advice.

Cant actually change my profile for some reason, but yes it is a rb26
