Sau:nsw - Monthly Meet February - Sunday Morning Cruise & Breakfast

Recommended Posts

What was with the guy in the high vis just after the sharp hairpin (north of Bald Hill lookout) standing in the bushes with what appeared to be a camera? This is on the return trip back to Sydney. Had a blue motorbike parked nearby. Thought it was a copper at first but it looked like a DSLR he was holding, not a radar gun. Not the greatest place to position oneself I thought, whether it was a cop or just a car/bike enthusiast taking photos.

That guy snapped me, was definitely just an enthusiast... I was going pretty slow stuck behind some traffic so got a good view

I shat myself as I came through the corner. I was already driving wobbly as it was due to my new setup. And I see a hi vis guy holding a camera. I was like dfq are the cops doing there :|

Yah I saw the guy too. With a dslr and vest. Next to the blue bike. Freaking gave me a heart attack. I thought was a copper. Wasn't going fast. So I gave him a wave when I realised he wasn't a cop.

There's a few guys who take pics on OPH; generally they load shots to FB pages, and you can pull them off their wall.

Some will give/sell full size image files to you if you ask nicely.

had a blast, car was filthy afterwards. What better excuse to wash the dirty old datsun than after a Nasho run?

22b was a beast

Was great to meet a few people in person.

Thanks for putting this on, will try to make the next meet but depends on my workload from uni

Thanks again Raj, great cruise; awesome bacon spot at the Cafe!

Great to meet some new faces, and see some really nice rides; so cool that everyone braved the rain.

Thanks to Terry for giving me my first opportunity to drive a GTR; in the N1 no less!

Now, how can I hide an R32 GTR from my missus? :whistling:

Im just glad everyone had a great day out. :)

The weather could have been a bit forgiving but overall, I think all the members made today's event successful.

Thanks to all. See you at the next meet!

was a great little drive, would of stayed for breakfast yet had some things i needed to do.
Was interesting for a skyline cruise, considering the car behind me was a stagea, then i was in a 180, then someone in a mazda 3 mps, then a wrx, then a r32 then a bmw,

This seems to be the car everyone wanted to see

5/5 There's no doubt about the great diversity we've had to-day eh? Sorry to have missed out on most cars, but they'll be coming out shortly.

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the pics from Jason and Ciaron at the Weir and the Bridge. Thanks in advance to them!!!!

Thanks Raj and the Executive Team for putting together another great cruise! Despite the rain I think we were really lucky to have the road and meeting points mostly to ourselves.

And a special thanks to Ciaron and Jason for their dedication in photographing the event. It's extremely appreciated by myself (and I'm sure all who attended), let's not forget these guys missed out on being in the heart of the cruise in order to capture the event!

Really looking forward to seeing the photos. I'll upload some of my parking lot pics soon.

Cheers,

Mathew

oh em gee...

Matt's beema, he let me sit in it.

I felt like growing a moustache, wearing a tweed jacket & smoking a pipe sitting in that driver seat. Very classy indeed!

Yeah, all of his photos will be of cars nose-diving heavily as people are slamming on the brakes thinking he's a copper!

So as usual the Down Shift meet was marred with drama with an S15 crashing and a whole bunch of other morons chucking skids everywhere in their Hondas.

Just remember this is exact thing that sets us apart from other clubs and the reason we've never had a police drama on a cruise to date.

Just remember you're representing the club, and if you do something silly and get caught, we're all tarred with the same brush and its all downhill from there

But great day aside from the unscheduled bath this morning around 7am, can't wait for the photos :)

I found the motorbike photographer, no car pics but I guess you can message him?

Someone started a topic on netrider forums asking about the photographer taking photos at RNP today & I realised it was the same dude

    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
    • My Fuga Hybrid is JDM, 2014 model but very similar to the V37 from the looks of things..same platform just physically larger and very comfortab;e
    • Was that Australia Delivered Duncan? Does it have siren etc?   I used to have remote start on an old 32 two decades ago, it was a cool feature. I used to wake up early in winter for work. Start it and by the time i was out the door a few minutes later the engine was warmed up and the heaters had the car toasty. It was great.    I don’t mine the ambience lighting.  I drive a western star and it has footwell lights and ambient lighting and it’s great! From the pics of seen of them installed in a skyline I think it’s a nice touch
