Just in the process of setting up my new turbo kit and most of it's fitted just upto the boost controller bit then dyno.

Do I have to run a dual stage boost controller if I have dual wastegate set up on my single turbo set up?

Also if it matters it's dual bov set up as well on hot side one on cold side.

What do you recommend running with a haltec boost controller wise for my set up?post-100589-14226160057598_thumb.jpg

"Dual stage" when it comes to boost controllers has no relevance to whether you have one or two wastegates. It's just 2 levels of boost control. You can use any boost controller you like to run 2 wastegates

Let's get this straight. You have 2 external wastegates, right? So, split exhaust manifold with 1 gate on each side of the manifold. Are these adjustable? If so, you will need to adjust the wastegates so that they are set to the same base pressure as each other before you start to try to control on top of that with a boost controller. Make sure you do that or shit will start to get unpleasant. If one wastegate is set much slacker than the other, then it will open up before the other one. Half of the engine will see higher backpressure than the other half, meaning higher exhaust temperature, more reversion back into the cylinder and potential tuning mayhem. The other half of the engine will be slacking off on holiday along for the ride. The split pulse turbo will be getting a strong push from half the engine and a sexy little blow in the ear from the other half. Not cool.

As to what boost controller to use. Literally ANY boost controller. Seeing as you're specifically asking about what to use with a Haltec....well, given that most Haltecs can do boost control from inside the ECU, then all you really need to provide is a suitable solenoid and set up the ECU to do it. Otherwise yo can use a bleeder or you can use an EBC from Apexi, HKS, Blitz, etc etc etc etc. The choices are near endless.
