nuci_gtr
Hey all, Recently purchased myself an r32 gtr, and one of the goodies it came with was a veilside catback. I haven't heard much about the system, just wanted to get people's opinions on it. Are they considered to be a good system? I fitted a tomei expreme ti catback to my last gtr and it was the best sounding thing on earth. I planned on buying the same system for the 32 purely for the sound, but will I see any extra power? The car is making 240kw atw with just this catback, intake and safc which says to me it must be decent. Just too quiet for me haha. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Cheers, Dan. niZmO_Man
It's a JASMA cat-back, hence quiet. So... better than a stocker, but probably doesn't flow as well as the Tomei (assuming Tomei is louder). KiwiRS4T
If your existing (veilside) system is at least 3in I would spend any spare money on a decent ecu and a tune first. nuci_gtr
Yeah it's a 3 inch stainless system. It has a pretty nice note to it but the tomei was definately louder. Just wanted to clarify because I know more sound doesn't necessarily mean better flow. niZmO_Man
I've never cut one up, but apparently the JASMA exhausts have reduced piping in the mufflers or something? Either way, I'd concentrate on other areas of the car, unless you really want a louder exhaust. scotty nm35
Some do, but you can easily see the reducer welded into the back of the muffler if it has one. cutting it out isn't hard and will improve flow, but personally I would be selling it, or keeping this catback for the inevitable defect. The amount of people that ask me for a legal 3 inch system... It's damn hard to make using local mufflers. Stixbnr32
I have one. But mine is a 3.5" JASMA and I made 383Kw at all 4. Brilliant exhaust. and to top off its legal meaning no attention from the coppers. I also have a 3.5" front pip and dump pipes and a whole raft of other mods Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/453332-veilside-catback-any-good/#findComment-7471528 Share on other sites
nuci_gtr
Yeah a decent equal length front pipe is next on the shopping list. But good to know they're capable.
