I had always wanted a standard looking clean interior. I believe now i am well on my way to achieving that.

Randomly on FB a woodgrain stagea wheel popped on my newsfeed so i snapped it up straight away. I still need a gearboot and an mp3 player that looks standard. I will change the led's to match the climate control.

I made a glovebox cluster out of redgum to hold my gauges and safc neo.

First was to make a template out of cardboard.

Then i clean dressed the redgum to let it air for a month, this was done to limit it's moisture content and it will have less chance of expanding and contracting with the different seasons.

I then deep ripped it on a bandsaw and cut out the template, i let it dry for another month.

I used an edge router with a 45deg ball bearing tip to get the perfect angle.

I used a 48mm holesaw to get the gauge holes and then used a bobbin sander to achieve a tight fit for the gauges. The safc neo hole was achieved by a 10mm drill bit, jogsaw and a hand file.

I then used a stain and a satin oil finish, each time i stained and oiled i sanded in between, there are 6 coats

I am not too happy with the finished product as i rushed some parts and steps. This is it all in, excuse the mess.

I attended the ACT's first all japanese car show hosted by REACT.

I met cpark, sin and a few others there and was a great start to my birthday!

Really digging the wood highlights, Ive got a few woodgrain interior pieces around somewhere...but not enough for a full set. I have a RWD woodgrain piece for the centre console, but it doesn't fit a 4WD model. I assume your centre console is also not off a 4WD S1 stagea?

Thanks tofu, redline and zoom.

The glovebox is a funny thing. Nissan didn't think i would notice that the latch hump is offset 5mm to the right and the sides taper inwards at the top.
After seeing HKS and freeway Dolphins glovebox consoles I knew I had to make one.

I'm very lucky my boss is a great guy and let's me make my own stuff on the weekends.

All my woodgrain pieces are from the s2 Stagea that's why the centre console needs a boot to cover the gap.

You should check out ebay and yahoo auctions, plenty of random wood bits out there for decent prices. I got lucky with my stuff, but I was always searching for the right pieces for the right price.

New regu 06&r muffler, this took a bit of work to get it to sit where it is. I now know why Stagea muffler tips are always 200mm long.

Stitched a shift boot.

And went nuts on Stagea magazines.

Purchased an innovate lc2 wideband and will probably have to make another glovebox console for a change of plans.

Benny I haven't forgotten about the cargo blind ;) I just get sidetracked very easily.

Huge thanks to Luke, Joe, raj, and Kyle for the brakes.

how does the new kakimoto muffler sound? does it have the silencer in it?

It's ok once warm but terrible when cold. No silencer, using a trust mid muffler too.

Honestly I can't tell you exactly how it sounds as I've never heard it outside the cabin.

    • Apologies, while id like to put the MAF as close to the TB and relocate the recirc, this may be too much work. Will most likely end up just putting it on the original AFM spot ( onto/next to the airbox ).  Was going through nistune, found a pretty nifty doc on this. Nistune MAF Notes. Also, i was looking through the bay, and there seems to be a tube/line connected from the A/C to the intercooler piping ( Between the smic and the recirc), what does this do as the crossover fmic piping doesnt have any connection? plumbing? not sure what you call it but the nipple thing ahah.  Also, been reading up more about crossover fmic in regards to the legality of having the hole drilled for the piping, this would most likely need to be engineered right?
    • My advice is if you need a big build done do it in Japan. The yen rate is so favorable and there are shops that can be genuinely trusted and not micromanaged/carefully monitored every step of the way. Garage Yoshida is obviously my preferred option but they're so busy these days and all interaction with new customers has to be mediated through BBL/Toprank now.
    • I haven't....but a poorly made one would terrify me. Surely a good second hand one is the go, as they don't work hard and no-one wants to keep one after they are finished with it A big consideration would be the weight of the shell you are putting on it....is it a fully dressed chassis or just the body
    • Not stock. All remade. Mostly looks stock because the pipes run to and from the standard holes in the inner guard to get to the return flow FMIC. I'm not sure which question you're trying to ask, because it seems like "stock position" vs "stock position".
    • Hey, it's a GT-R, it's just as significant a moment as mine😁 It's not ideal when things are uncertain; I'm the type of person that always has a set plan for things in life so being unsure of this plan puts me in a weird place mentally.
