(sorry if this isn't the right spot to post this)

So I took my R34 into the shop and of course, the lovely coilpacks had pooped themselves. Now i'm not an extreme genius on cars, just really know the basics and what not. Apparently it's going to cost anywhere between $1200-$1500 to replace the coils (Which i think is fair enough due to them being pretty expensive by themselves), as they're replacing all 6 of them. The bloke called me up and told me he couldn't pinpoint which coil it was, due to the "layout of the engine" or something along those lines.

My biggest question is, am I being taken advantage of due to my age, and what sorts of prices have you been quoted to change out 6 coils + labour?

Sorry if this is an extremely basic question, however I just want to double check with you all!

(R34 25gt, by the way)

you are being taken advantage of. A good set of coils is like $500 and it takes literally two seconds to install them.

Well.

HOW FKN MUCH????!!!!

Take it somewhere else

SHIET.

Considering the establishment that diagnosed this problem, it would be worth reading up on how to change spark plugs and clean existing coil packs too.

You may find the coil packs aren't the problem, might be crook plugs, excessive plug gap, too much degreaser and so on.
