370gt Wheel Nuts

Hi guys,

Where can I find these wheel nuts for V36 370GT? Would any Nissan dealers have these? They are the same as 370Z. Been to a tyre shop this morning, they took off the ones with the lock but couldn't put them on. And they don't have anything similar to put on. Now I am having 4 nuts on each wheel. They said it is safe to drive but I am really concerned. :(

as long as the 4 nuts are tightened correctly driving around normally will be fine until you find a replacement

But, I don't understand how the tyre shop could take them all off but then only put 4 back on? doesn't make sense. Did they f**k up one of the nuts? Are they lock nuts?

It's been awhile since I've sold my V36 but from memory the factory nuts have a taper, most tyre shops should stock them. Try autobarn/supercheap auto too

If you are in Adelaide (you haven't specified your location for some reason) I have a few sets of replica RAYS nuts in blue or red here for $50 a set including lock nuts.

They are lock nuts.. I wanted to check the brake pads since I don't know any history of the car. The wheels have to be removed to see the brake pads. They didn't have the correct key but forced and damaged the locks. If I knew they can't put it back on I would never ask them.. "just go to Nissan dealer to get few from them" That's all they said.. Very unprofessional..

I'd tell them where to shove their lock nuts, they shouldn't have taken them off without the key, probably the wet behind the ears apprentice doing all the grunt jobs.

If they're a major chain you can complain to the franchisor, that is poor form on the tyre shop's part.

You didn't have the lock nut key with you in the car?

Don't bother with the nissan dealer, they'll just overcharge you. Get a new set of lock nuts & keep the key in the boot or the console. Like I said you can try supercheap/autobarn as at least they're open on sundays. Loosen up one of the factory nuts when you go to a shop & they can find a suitable type

Nissan should charge about 4.5-5.5 each for the normal lug nuts not too sure about the lock nuts. If you have stock wheels please don't use aftermarket lug nuts unless they have the same taper angle etc as the stock ones which I can't find any.

When I was buying my Xtrail 2 years ago I enquired about lock nuts & from memory I think they wanted $60ish? I can't remember exactly but I remember them being grossly overpriced. However if OP wishes to enquire at a dealership then go for it.

I used a set of $20 lock nuts on my V36 that I got at my local tyre shop & they worked fine, I owned that car for 5 years with no hassles on the lock nuts.

Any Wheel place should be able to sort you out mate.

If you didn't have the key you can hardly blame the shop for not being able to properly remove or reinstall the locknuts. What would you have done if you got a flat Tyre?

Just don't lose the key . Some keys have a number code stamped on the top or on the pack so if you lose it you know which replacement to buy
