G'day Ben

e-go actually has a little page on how to ship a gearbox

can't say I've done it before, but If it where me i'd strap it to a palette and wrap it in packaging wrap (glad wrap style stuff)

http://www.e-go.com.au/infopage.do?page=packaging_help

hope that helps

EDIT

How should it be packaged & presented for transport? Carton if under 25kg and skid/pallet if over 25kg Handy hints Ensure the item is drained of all oils and fluids. If on a skid/pallet, it must be carefully and securely strapped down. Edited by Jordy32

Cheers man

I was hoping to use e go, and for some crazy reason couldn't find that info. I've been spazzing out a bit lately!

Definitely over 25kg so time to find a skid it small pallet.

Used this site recently. https://www.transdirect.com.au/

Got a quote and chose the cheapest courier.

Easy and good  about 4 days

Cost me $120 to get a Transmission sent from Caloundra Qld to the ACT

Was on a small skid, strapped down, torque converter strapped in and wrapped in bubble wrap

Son shipped a V6 engine with E-Go last year. We bolted it to a wooden pallet using coach bolts & steel strips, then wrapped the lot in pallet wrap.

You can buy a roll of pallet wrap plastic from Savill Packaging at Pooraka - behind Research Rd - for around $30. You won't use anywhere near the full roll. Wooden pallets can be found for free in the local industrial areas - try Cormack Rd at Dry Creek.
