R32 Diff Ratio.

Hay all.

Anyone know what diff ratio is in a r32 gtst?

I have recently converted to a 3speed but it seems to rev high on the highway. (4000 rpm @100kph)

Look at your chassis plate.

This is from a GTR with 4.1 ratio, I think you'd be 4.3.

I think you are asking where to get a 4.1 ratio for a gtst - yes?

GT-R = 4.111:1

Stagea = 4.083:1

All the Skyline / Stagea range use the "R200" differential. The whole differential unit will bolt into your GTSt, although I think if you use the Stagea gears, transfer the crown wheel and pinion to your current diff centre (I understand Stageas run an open - non-LSD - diff centre).

Either way, you might need to change the speedo drive gear in the gearbox - a GT-R one swaps straight in.

S13 and s14 also have a diff that will swap over and use a 3.8 ratio

What gearbox are you using?

100kph at 4000 means top gear is extremely under driven or your rpm's are reading way wrong.

Using that same gear box and swapping to a 3.8 diff ratio from the 4.3 will only drop 100kph to 3500rpm,

I am running a trimatic with a 3200rpm converter.

Rpm's are all good

My info shows a trimatic as 1:1 (direct) in top gear.

With stock tyres that gives>

4.3 diff ratio > 100kph = 3580rpm

4.1 diff ratio > 100kph = 3450rpm.

3.8 diff ratio > 100kph = 3200rpm.

I can get hold of a s14 diff with 3.9 ratio but it's got an abs sensor.

Can u use this diff or even the internals into mine? I am aware I would have to change the shafts. The only thing is the abs sensor.... Looks like the drive shaft is too long.??
