Diff Help

Hey all

I have a build thread for my r33 gtst series 2 track car.

Im using it as an all rounder, drifting and track work. But mostly for drags.

So yer drags most followed by drift.

The diff open wheels at the moment with 350kws...

What diffs do people suggest or what to do knowing what i use the car for?

I have a drift prac in a fortnight so would like it set up before then

Drift or drags a locked diff would be the go.

The series 2 r33 has a r200 diff yer?

1.4m shim each side + the standard or remove standard?

I have heard that GKtech are making R180 and R200 spools but that was months ago and nothing seems to have come to fruition.

if i was going to shim 1.2 both sides, would you leave the standard one in there or remove with 1.2 both sides?

I'd jam as many shims as possible into it. Keeping in mind that it will work but is not a permanent solution and you will have to shell out for a proper mechanical diff or get an open centre and weld that eventually.

hahah its a stop gap solution for me at the mo. Just dont have the cash for a decent diff. Will eventually but not yet!

well ive ordered 2 1.2mm shims. one for each side.

No reason not to get a open diff to weld. Works good and cost effective.

I'm personally interested in those R200 spools, anyone got one in their R200?
