GH05T
Good morning all. one of my pet hates is a dirty windscren and i spend allot of time trying to keep my daily 32 glass clear.as with allot of older cars the glass is littered with marks, fine scratches and little nicks.I have seen people removing these with 0000 steel wool and other polishing methods.to the guys in the know, before i potentially damage my glass, whats the best method? 34GeeTeeTee
If the hammer fails try a clay bar... Never tried it... Could work... Could end up with the same results as the hammer though! GH05T
yeah i have claybared it before and that gets the usual shit off it. im more interested in removing the small scratches left by the wipers and just by general micro nicks and scratches that the sun picks up. colourclassic
Running a fine razor blade over them close to perpendicular to the surface usually gets most residue off. Then Ajax or glass cleaner. I'm not sure you're going to be able to 'polish out' any chips/scratches etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/454797-rejuvenating-an-aged-windscreen/#findComment-7497723 Share on other sites

MrStabby
I've bought a DIY kit from http://www.glasspolish.com.au but havent got around to trying it yet. The window guides in both doors have scratched the glass on the GTR Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/454797-rejuvenating-an-aged-windscreen/#findComment-7499039 Share on other sites
GH05T
same. might give the steel wool a try on that. if it totally farks it, its easier (and needs to be) replaced. Sinista32
Did the "how to super clean your windshield" today as I was already detailing my 32/4door. All glass is crystal clear. The steel wool does not remove scratches. I still have them on my rear door glass. Previously I have bought a powder and liquid combo and used my polisher. Took some of the very very minor ones out but not most.
