need circles on your pic mate, the description is not specific enough to be sure.

also, the ebay listing has 3 pics of different parts, all of which are for 32 gtr (and I wasn't aware you could get the ball joint at the end of the tie rod anywhere except genuine Nissan).

Thanks for the reply duncan,

the mechanic said that the HICAS Tie rod ends need replacing, they look worn out..

I called him back and asked him is it the metal arm or just the rubber insert thinggy

he said the rubber

P.S. the ebay link, he seems to do that do alot of products, maybe a way to advertise?!?! I thin the first image represents what is to be sold

yeah OK from that description probably the bit you have circled. I would not assume the ebay listing for 32 gtr matches 34 gtt unless you have seen confirmation on here or in a catalogue somewhere. If you want to pm me or someone else with FAST your VIN number we can check if it is the same part as 32 gtr (55154-30P00)

Nissan definitely have them, ironically I bought some for my 32 gtr the other week. more expensive than your ebay listing though.

BTW unless they are seriously f**ked most places would not notice some extra play in those joints....you could always take it somewhere else.

The bit circled is a ball joint, pretty expensive each ($120NZD ea) and the quickest easiest way to replace without too much swearing is to remove the complete hub and press out.

I'd ask the mechanic again exactly what he means by hicas rod ends as it could be just rack ends. The rod that goes from the hicas unit to the ball joint, cheap and not too hard to remove apart from figuring out how to remove the passenger side rack end. Damn HICAS!

The ebay link is for the ball joint that goes on the rear lower control arm where the hub knuckle is inserted into. I'm not sure if those bushes are the same. I know r32 and r33 use a different ball joint around the suspension.

looks like the 34 gtst part is 55154-30P01, so not the same as 32 GTR.

And yes they suck to change on the car so allow for the labour cost to remove and replace the hubs....may be worth checking or doing other bushes at the same time

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
