Hey all,

I recently became the proud new owner of a 2007 Nissan V36 Skyline 350GT Type SP 50th Anniversary Edition :woot:

For those of you SAU members who are interested in V36 Skyline's (or who followed my story of importing a V35 Skyline to Australia) I have updated my blog and will continue to post on there about this particularly special vehicle and what changes I have made to the process of importing a vehicle from Japan, the second time round.

If you have any questions, or suggestions for the blog - You're welcome to post here or pm me and I'd love to hear!

PS: I always endeavor to ensure the information I post on my blog is accurate (re: vehicle specifications / options etc) - If you find any mistakes, could you please let me know and I will update accordingly :)

just noticed it says type sp but howcome it has the type p front bar? very clean interior how many k's?

Very interesting question - I completely forgot to list it on my blog!

My V36 Skyline came with this front bar from the factory - and it does not fall into the traditional Type S, Type P or Type SP packages...

This bar is actually from the V36 Skyline 250GT and I believe it's the only one designed to fit the radar for the cruise control system... Have a look at the photo below for a better view. I've only seen this front bar on one other V36 Skyline 350GT in Australia... Pretty cool hey :)

I saw a V36 sedan here in Adelaide the other week with that same cutout and was wondering what it was. I can't remember whether it was an SP or normal bar though.

SKYLINE - 2.5 GT 4WD TYPE P 50TH LIMITED - 4sedan 3,696,000

In addition I was looking at SP's with factory cruise and they had the normal front bumper with the laser range finder mounted next to where the foglight should be. One of them was a 50th Anniversary version like yours with the red leather and factory cruise.

Having spent months looking for factory cruise gave up, bought the best car that I could afford, and just fitted the cruise once it was in AUS.. Also means that it works above 110km/h indicated, which on my car is about 102 according to Tom/Garmin...

It doesn't have the big brakes, was this not on the 4door SP's?

There is so little 'solid and thorough' information on V36 Sedan package differences on the web it's not funny... I know of a few pages that will always be posted and provide the same basic information.

But a depository of the exact features included on the Base 350GT, Type S, Type P and Type SP... in addition to the 50th Anniversary Limited Edition... and all the factory options available from Nissan for the V36 Skyline Sedan... <<< To have all of this information (and be it true and correct) in the once place would be a god send...

Until this happens, I'm going to continue my search for V36 Sedan info and build up my own collection of 'Package differences' on my blog @ www.v35skyline.com

I does have the big brakes, with the twin pot sliding calipers, but not the huge brakes with the 4 pot calipers.

There was the standard "small" brakes with the single pot set up as fitted to the P.

Here is a pic of a mates PV36 Type SP with factory cruise and front radar, thus i said the bar on the 50th Limited is the one from Type P

Oh wow! Now this is what I've been waiting for - the cold hard facts!

I have never seen a radar cruise control module in this front bar before...

So are you suggesting that it's rare for a PV36 Type SP to have a Type P bar with a the radar module?

I have no idea how this all works (from the factory)... I wish I knew how this all played out from new (in 2007).

Or if someone has access to an original Japanese Nissan Skyline brochure from this era...

Im just saying its rare for the SP to not have a SP front bar as according to NISSAN the SP bars are designed different as to cool the brakes under intense spirited driving :) not sure if it matters tho...
