Hey people

I was doing some research into building an s15 into a general track car (grip and drift) and i was looking into what upgrades are recommended for handling and braking - the common upgrades consist of skyline parts. My plan consists of this:

buy something along the lines of this:

https://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan%20car/nissan/silvia/16079952/

use something like this for a doner car:

https://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan%20car/nissan/skyline/15985946/

grab the engine (get a turbo and manual gearbox for it) and any upgrade part i could.

The only information i could find on this specific model of r34 is the diff ratio (4.111:1) and here is my question:

What parts on this are the same as the gtst/gtr and What parts would be an 'upgrade' to an s15?

Thanks in advanced

I'm not sure that any Skyline part is an "upgrade" for an S15. They already have basically the same rear suspension except the Silvia is not afflicted with the horror of HICAS. The Silvia has 3.69 diff ratio to go with the 6 speed gearbox - the Skyline has 4.11 to go with 5 speed. The RB25DET box is bigger and stronger than the 6 speeder, but changing one means changing everything.

If that Skyline is an auto, then the diff isn't a 4.11, it's actually a 4.08. if it really is an auto NA sedan, then it probably isn't even an LSD. In that case, it doesn't represent a donor of any value in any way. The brakes on it will be crap. It won't even have a rear ARB.

In short. If you want a turbo S15, go buy a turbo manual S15. Save yourself the hassle of trying to make an RB25 turbo S15. Don't get me wrong, RBs into S cars make for good speed, but the handling suffers from hanging a big heavy 6 out where a light alloy 4 is supposed to be.
