Hey guys,

So the base im posted to has some VERY uneven driveway/road joins (like over a foot in road height variation) and over the last three months, after going over and over them on an angle im now getting a creaking coming out of the chassis. The sounds now doesnt just come from going over on an angle, but under medium to heavy braking too. It is the worst when i go over something largely uneven though.

The sound seems like its coming out of the wheel arch predominately at the front

so i have a few questions:

Is this normal on 32's?

is my chassis fked?

would something like chassi bracing from hardrace or the like fix it up?

is there anything i can do to minimise noise or alleviate stres on the chassis?

is a rollcage the only thing that will make an older 32 chassis sound/feel new again?

would strut braces front and rear assist at all?

I've had front upper control arms/ bushes/coilovers/swaybars replaced. The suspension still feels sharp and responsive, but the sound really makes me cringe now, and im at the point where im looking at rebuilding the engine.. i dont want to if im going to have grief from the platform. Any thoughts would be great

Cheers

R32 upper arms need grease nipples installed on both ends when you have poly bushes in there so that you can jam lots of grease in whenever* they start bitching.

* actually, a lot more often than that. You should grease them every few months to stop them getting dry and flogging out.

+1 want to know this as well

My car doesnt have any noise normally but only on one particular corner on the track, when there is modulation on the corner, it squeaks from the rear boot, i'm guessing it's normal that the chassis is slightly twisting but should i be worried?

Oh man, I've gone through the same thing.

Does this sound familiar?

http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/439471-cheap-chassis-bracing-bits-you-can-buy-and-bolt-in/

"I want some extra structural rigidity in the car anyway since my driveway is on a funny incline and I have to drive the car up diagonally. It twists the chassis enough to make the window frame make popping cracking sounds each time.

"Like I said the driveway has had its toll and I want to give it more support. Use the back seats from time to time so no roll cages."

Do you also have one of those mountain style driveway kerbs? Do you also notice a brake shudder when you brake? And sloppyness to straight line driveabilty? I don't even put my good skyline up there at all.

Yes I also started getting squeeks.
