Driver Door Keylock Fix

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum, I've recently bought a r32 gtr and the driver side key lock hole does not work well when you try and unlock it using the key. The passenger side works well but the driver side seems to be jammed. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this problem without having to replace the key and all of the lockable stuff like the ignition, both doors and boot. I'll be installing an alarm soon on the car so I will have key-less entry but I'm very fussy about my car and hate it when something doesn't work. Do you think a locksmith might be able to fix it?

Thanks

Try squirting some graphite powder in there. That shit rules.

If that doesn't do it you'll have to pull it apart and inspect the lock, or get a locksmith to do it. But putting a key in a car door is way too old school for me.....

Is the key worn? Do you have the code number to the key? If it's a yes to both Qs, get a new key cut so that each tooth operates properly. But certainly feel free to try graphite powder first as Ben suggested.

I took it to a locksmith and they fixed it for me for like $20. I'm going to install an alarm system and central locking but its always good to have a working lock as a backup. Arrow locksmiths at Wetherill Pk do a great job if anyone needs it.
