I've just recently purchased a 2002 S1 M35 Stagea from Japan.

It's about to be loaded onto a boat and I've got a whole bunch of photos.

I had some pretty specific requirements as it's going to be my daily driver.

I managed to land (I think) a fully-specced S1 M35 which is in really good condition with the exception of a small dent in the rear bumper.

I was aware of this before I purchased it.

It's pretty minor and doesn't actually bother me that much, however, I'm concerned that it may qualify as 'pre-existing damage' from an insurance perspective.

Just Car Insurance just rejected covering the car due to pre-existing damage stating that I have to get it fixed before they will insure it.

Can anyone provide advice on where I might be able to get this repaired in Brisbane?

Alternatively, is it worth speaking to the insurance companies (providing pictures) to try and get insurance with the minor damage as is?

I've attached a photo of the bumper.

Thanks.

Pre existing damage? It's barely a crease... And you told them about it before hand anyway. I don't understand insurance companies, they would likely call that a write-off due to not being able to source the parts.

Any bumper repair place should be able to heat that up and smooth it out, depends if the insurance company is happy with that repair though, now they know about it.

I have a Blue rear bar here, will need a sand back and respray, but it may be cheaper than the repair quotes if shipping is cheap enough. Otherwise scour the wreckers for a silver one?
