Hmm. Intresting mate. Im going down this same road, but my hx35 is on a rb26. Wounder how it will work. I've been considering a new turbo but willing to give this a try first.

Did you ever get this sorted out??

Interesting topic to read.. I had almost exactly the same issue years ago when I had a split pulse 0.86 diesel rear housing on my GT3040. Made boost early and power came on strong, then the power flat lined from about 5k to 8k. Changed the housing to a normal open housing and it made another 70hp and climbed till the limiter.

Would be interested to read an update.

What size down pipe did you guys running?

Im using what hoset calls a 12cm rear housing and wondering if the 16cm would be much better on this rb26. Im very close to starting up and tuning. The original turbo has a 2.5" outlet on the hot side. I see they offer a 3" its for 139(5 bolt flange) and the rear 16cm housing is 169. I wonder which one to go with. For the extra 39 dollars i figure if the housing gives more power (16cm) potential and it already comes with 3" vband outlet. Hmmmm -_-

The car is finished and i ran it at 14psi. It's fast but i can feel that ita getting stuffed on high rpms. Like after 7200. Think I'll upgrade to the 16cm housing and see what happens. It worth it for 169 usd.
