Hahaha u rekon??? Dude u should go hang around some wreckers joints, and let me tell u SR's are very very rare and the ones that come in are sold pretty damn quickly...Why?? Cause they all BREAK! Throw rods, snap rocker arms...GT autosounds snapped a rocker arm ffs so don't tell me it doesn't happen!!!!

hey boof show me an rb20 making 650 hp!!!!!

closest I have seen is 550hp from a jap car.

I dont think they all break I know plenty of people making 240-250 rwk on stock bottom ended sr's and have been for 12-18 months I know of 5 in melbourne alone .

rockers only break when you over rev them. hence my 7200 rev limit

btw roy they do do 2.2 sr's :) you have to go for a ride in mine to see the difference

I ahve no dispute between rb 25/ 26 I thnkthey are great motors but as for 2.0 liter mark the sr eats and rb 20 every day

LOL...alright, all for a bit of fun, when my cars back together we'll give them a nudge down the quarter at Calder, loser buys the other a case of beer :) and goes off to think of a worthy excuse for getting handed a prodigous beating :)

Been for a ride in a few SR20s, one with the same turbo setup as mine, another with a Nizpro built engine, both well sorted cars and the only real difference is the SRs like Buster said dont seem to have the same top end as my thing, and response came back to the fact that their setups are sorted and only now is mine getting the wrinkles ironed out :) ..... i dont think there is any real difference, comes back to turbo setup and bolt on combination more then SR v RB

You can have an RB22 using std RB20 crank, SR22 requires $$$$ crank :aroused:

Yep... absolutely agree with Meggala there. I shall be going for the SR20DET swap in the Type M for sure.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Its bad enough everyone swapping there RB20s for RB25/26/30s, now ppl are going to start throwing SR20s in them.

Its all good, funny to see how the different combos work, and the respective strengths of each. Though my only beef with that approach is noone ever tries to develop an RB20, so outside of a 2530 and 210rwkws, noone ever gives them a chance.

Come on Meggala, Calder Park and the prize being case, sorry slab of winners chosing :)

No i dont expect to win, probably lose as im a choker and have never drag raced before, but should be a bit of fun :) .....So SR20s SUCK BALLS , prove me wrong :)

lol seeing as this all started from the mag article I scanned in, (I've made a translated version if you fellas wanna follow the drag battle). I should probably post up the article in the same mag but in an issue from 1997 about RB20DET tuning achievements. Incluing a 2.4L RB20DET that is still doing the rounds in the tracks.

Also you should note... that particular category is limited to N/A vehicles up to 4L in capacity or turbo vehicles up to 2.4L in capacity. The truth is that under 2.4L SR20 is king.
