Hello

I am researching how to put a rb26 into a r32 gts-t. One thing that I keep reading is to cut the slump off . What is the slump and where is it located? Is it the part where the front steering racks would connect to the engine for 4w drive, that is a part of the oil pan?

What would be the proper way to cut this off? Or do I just unbolt the parts? I have read that some people weld it and some don't. I've also read that some people leave it.

I also read that the oil pan has be to changed to a rb20 or rb25 one.

What I researched also is to keep the RB26 engine harness, GTR harness and dash, bolt on the rb20 ac pump, power steering pump, and use the gtr computer.

Do I have this correct? What bout sensors? I didn't see anything about what sensors to keep or change.

I went through several sources online including some from this forum.

The slump doesn't exist. The sump is different between awd and rwd. Which is the oil pan. Which has a diff in it for an rb26. Which you should google what differential is for an explanation. And maybe what awd is as to why there is a diff in the front.

^^^What he said, Judging by your many threads your mechanical knowledge is quite limited and while its good to expand your skills I suspect you won't be ready any time soon to undertake an engine transplant. If you are going to buy an RB26 and pay someone to install it in your car the cost will likely be not much less than if you were to sell your car and buy a GTR.

Wow, you do realise before the internet people did stuff by working it out themselves, but yet with all the information you have available to you, you have problems even being and to find and understand the info...

There are reasons that several of us have advised you that for the power level and response you are wanting you should put in an RB25. Preferably a Neo. Those reasons are;

1) A 20 will be peaky and not as much fun on the street,

2) A 26 is a shit tonne more work to install, including all this crap about having to fix the sump, etc etc.

A Neo is just as good as, if not better than, a 26. Essentially the same capacity, even better head design, same oil pump and rods as a 26. And at the same time is so similar to the RB20 that things like intake paths, throttle cable, wiring, etc etc all just more or less line up with the original stuff, making the transplant that much easier. Sure, there is still of a lot of crap you need to sort out to put a Neo in, but it is still a lot easier than some of the crap you need to do for a 26.

I will admit that power steering and air-con would probably be easier if you did a 26 (depending on the donor vehicle and your choice of which anciliaries you keep from which engine), but that's about it.

If you don't know what and where a "slump" the sump is then you have a metric fark load to learn before you are even capable of considering this conversion

Again with the neo being better then a 26, proof is all i want, i know a stock neo with stock turbo is never going to make 400rwhp, i have proved a 26 will :/

The fact the you don't know it's called a sump and not a slump or where it is on the engine shows how limited your knowledge of cars is and would be doing yourself a favour buy paying an expert to do the job

Area under the curve my friend. Peak HP is only one measure.

show us a dyno sheet that can match micks curve and power out put then cause none seems to be able to come up with them

Solution is simple, do what most to when they have no idea, pay a professional to do it for you.

All you need is money.

If no money, then borrow from a bank, if that fails, rob bank or sell arse or sell drugs to get money. :)

If that fails, sell car.
