Faaark, who'd you rob bro? That's some serious coin been put in to make that kind of power within 12 months! Most of us spend that much over 5 years if we're lucky (unlucky?)

Great to see however! Love it.

Had it 3 months and finished :woot: and to get all of the gear ready would take some time, good planing and picked the right company to do it .

He might be one of those hideous blokes that saves money for a rainy day :yucky: haha

Or robbed a bank!

Planned and executed well. A good shop and obviously a good relationship.

Must eat at you peter when you thought you had also taken the right steps.

Good fortune and a good result.

There would not be many if any others with this experience.

haha, thought I had it covered, but it did piss me off big time at the time, but I do not live in the past , there is always more new shit waiting to happen :)

But ,the way this was done should be how they are all done, choose your builder (first check out their build times) know what you want, get the bolt ons etc and then check if the builder is ready to start on your build. Oh, I did it all that, well except the builder bit,lol

I do not know if this bloke just happened to be at the right place at the right time ??

Workload would play a part.

But still yours was fairly quick too.

Living in the past is a mugs game, your right.

Anyway this build looks great.

Well , his was a month, mine was over 5 months and I had everything there ??

Looking at his Dyno, would you say it is a laggy street car or am I missing something? I know it has .2Lt more but up to 5000rpm it is not doing much? I struggle with most Dyno graphs, some blokes just take a glance and can tell how it will drive.

All I know is when mine did not kick in until over 5000rpm it was a nightmare on the street.

I love white Rs :)

I understand that, marvel at what he did in 3 months and the results are sensational :)

But it is also a street car, what about the first 5000rpms, as I said when I bought mine it did nothing until 5000rpm + and at 140kph@150kw that is similar to his graph, even with the .2Lt more ?

He has done 5000klms on the street and loves it  , i drove home 350 Klms and wanted to put a match to it on the first day :yucky: !

So I must be missing something the way I have read his graph and would like someone that knows to explain it for me

You need to take a chill pill. It's not your car so you don't have to be happy with it.

Not everyone is hell bent on response this and response that

I already said it was fantastic and I do not give a shit how someones else's car drives, to each his own :) I love what he has done, jealous that he could get it done in a month and think his car looks great, love white Rs ??????

That is not what I was saying, he said it was good to drive as a DD and my car at a similar speed and KWs was really shitty as a DD from idle, my Quad clutch did not help.

"I struggle with Dyno charts, I wondered if I missed something, or the extra .2 Lt made the difference."

I was hoping "he" would answer and let me know how it all works in together, not your " RESPONSE " with your medical advice, it is a bit warm so I might take a chilled beer instead :)

it can just come down to how its tuned.

i had a t88 fully built 26 done by Croydon and it drove like shit. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone again after a simple build took forever. They are never in a hurry to do anything.

Took my car to JEM after an outrageous quote by Croydon for simple upgrades. Got them to go over the entire tune and it drove 1000 times better after Adam had tuned it

Thanks Chris

I know shit all about this stuff until I get some answers to questions I ask and then, I still know very little, except advise to take a chill pill and that really helps, school hols are a pain :).

I could never understand anyone wanting to drive a car as a "DD" the way "MY CAR" drove , I was crap , it had a T78 tuned by CRD for top end!

Before you blokes throw rocks or chill pills, I am just asking, how can this car be a good DD .Have a look at what I asked before saying I should PO?

I thought SAU was for asking questions and I cannot wait until the owner gets back on the thread, probable had an Easter break or a phantom :)

The reality is it isn't a good daily driver for everyone. You wouldnt like it Pete, I probably wouldn't like it.

There's a fair wait for the power, but when it comes it would certainly be fun.

Can't wait to see some quarter mile times. That's when the car will shine.

    • What could be causing my clutch problem besides a bad master or slave then? Both those parts are new
    • Just came across this, but in QLD I start leave again in 2 weeks, if it is still available I might drive up and check it out Unless, @MBS206 do you live near here????, if so I could hit you up with a finders fee https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/hope-island/auto-body-parts/nc-mx5-factory-hard-top/1328976391
    • My hold point for future mods is that I want a OEM detachable hard top first, but, finding one is a pain, MX5 Mania are looking for one for me, but, as hens teeth are more common, finding one in Australia is proving problematic  I can get a OEM one from overseas, hell, you can still get new ones in 'Merica, but, shipping is a absolute killer and I cannot justify the cost, or the risk of it being damaged during transport As for the aftermarket hardtops, whilst they do the job of being a hard top, and are fine for a track car, they don't seal well (read: leak like a sieve in the rain), and you need a plastic/poly rear window, plus they are a bolt in option only and not made to be easily removed I liked how the hard top on my NB could be fitted, and removed, by myself, in less than 5 minutes I know it sounds bad, but I'm waiting for someone to write off a car with one so I can swoop in on their pain, it will go to a good home though, so my guilt of this is tempered
    • I’ve got one on mine and it’s fine,
    • No, you don't want to plug the vacuum line, as that will turn that side of the booster into an air spring and probably make it feel worse. I'm not saying that the GTR master itself doesn't need a booster. I haven't paid attention to the GTR one to know what size it is cf the non-GTR ones. But when you think about it - they have to do the same job, which is to move a little slave piston a few mm to do what it is supposed to do, and that final action is the same on all the cars. So, it is very unlikely that the GTR MC is any different than the others, because it has the same pedal stroke and the same output requirement. The booster just makes it feel easier. I'd suggest you probably have an actual hydraulic problem. It's totally common on these old shitboxes.
