boobeedoobee
Hey I'm updating my cam gears to a nice set of hks and I want to put a clear cover. Just wondering does it stay clean from the inside? If not is it hard to remove and clean? iruvyouskyrine
Yes it should stay clean if inside your timing cover is clean and your cam seals don't leak. It would only be 3/4 bolts to take it off. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/455970-does-a-clear-cam-cover-on-an-rb26-stay-clear-and-clean-form-the-inside/#findComment-7520612 Share on other sites

Ben C34
You'd be crazy to not have them replace the seals when the gears are off. Removing the cover is easy, then you have to reset the timing cos you have to take the cas off. GTSBoy
I'm loving the idea of clear cam covers. That wording, plus the question of whether it will stay clean on the inside was worth a laugh. Timing cover, now that's whole 'nother biscuit. Ben C34
Man. You come on here asking people to help then act like this? Just throw money at your chosen shop and get some shit result. But a clear cover for wank factor. Good luck with it. Then you sell the car for a huge loss. How would the inside of a cover get dirty? Well one way would be a leaking camshaft seal, which only a lunatic wouldn't replace when they have the gears off a unknown km engine. Or the crank seal. Or the water pump. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/455970-does-a-clear-cam-cover-on-an-rb26-stay-clear-and-clean-form-the-inside/#findComment-7520691 Share on other sites
