NEO and non NEO's from R33 are both VCT heads. The only RB25 heads that came without VCT that I know of is the ones from the R32, which is very very rare to come by.

If the NEO head does give higher compression, an alternative would be to get a metal head gasket or any that's thicker. This will reduce the compression but I personally haven't done it and can't say if NEO and non neo gaskets are the same. Just some food for thought.

Neo and non neo gaskets are the same.

I never meant to imply non neo 25 head doesn't have vct, the actuator looks different and is easy to differentiate the heads.

Neo head definitely has a smaller Comp chamber
