Sadly I won't recommend you anything. I can't tell you what to buy, all I can do is give you prices and walk you through features.

My mate Glen has a fully bombed hx with Nfi on the plates!

Hey team,
Anyone able to help me out, I'm looking to replace these 2 hoses in my Engine bay as one has a split in it, and the other is just the wrong hose and could kink easily.
The usual places (Supercheap etc..) haven't be able to help me. Any Advice?

Also, my Valve Cover Gaskets and Seals arrived today, will be changing them out next week probably.

Is the blue silicone hose just crushed or is it tapered. Although I work for epe I got mine from ozlink in Oconner. 3/4 " I/d clear with a s/s wound inner to stop the collapse. I went there to get get some s/s and Ali fittings but the minimum eftpos was $20 bucks so I grabbed the hose aswell.

I have been going to make the cam breather hose out of 2xs/s 90* bends with a straight in the middle but I am lazy.

Check out the ozlink or epe website

The cam breather will look poxy with bent hose and not the 90* bends.

Can't remember and will have to check if it is 16mm I/d or 19mm I/d, (5/8") or (3/4). The bigger the I/d on the hose and fittings is better because the bigger it is it draws less vacuum.

DSC_0325.JPGYep it should be a 5/16" I'd hose. The one from ozlinc is obviously a clear one with a s/s winding. It looks bigger but is a 16mm or 5/8" I/d that has to go over the swagging. From memory it cost bugger all for a meter and you could do the cam breather in a loop for the time being to stop collapse?

Zoom in on the pic and you will see the mm pretty accurately. Also mypoxy electrical tape split cam cover breather. Lol

Nice and tidy engine bay dude. I like it.

Thanks for the help dude, you know your shit. :91_thumbsup:

The blue hose has kinked, it's not the correct hose, previous owner must've just slapped it on there.
I'll check out those websites and make a few calls on Monday.

It's a skyline, show us your previous owner. He needs a good and solid kick in the nut bag! Mate I had Blue discs, coil packs with the top of spark plugs hacksawed off and shoved in for contact, a heat shrunk wiring loom for the coil packs. Garden hose and evian bottle catch can, a ton of wiring that dropped out the bottom of the dash, the wrong bushes in the castor arms because they were off a 34 and codged in, split boots all round, the seats weren't bolted in properly front and rear, it was that low and out of camber that it had torn chunks out of the tyres so I lifted I't on the tein basics to 100mm all round , the battery and hicas ecu were toasted, the roof lining had dropped, water pump and timing belts were codged up, s/s braided oil feed to the turbo leaked with broken studs to the manifold and turbo, dump pipe was spilt, the centre had split out of the poxy chineese exhaust, radiator was trash, the carbon fibre b/pillar covers fell off, duckwing rear spoiler came off, battery was out of a Nancy's car, gear box boots were split, stereo and speakers were f**ked and didn't work, it's been mental, but she's fully solid and pulling hard now. My mate Dave has 30 years experience as a mechanic for reference plus all the looking up and research off the forums. Well worth it. I've owned 4 different v8's a bombed escorted and a jag. Love the Nissan the best of all. Turbo power!

I always try to avoid doing more work at work but dealing with those dickheads is ridiculous, super cheap, auto one, repco, auto barn, Bursons. I would like to help you but unfortunately I have no mechanical knowledge, qualifications or experience? Anything I've seen on here t-revs knows his stuff and could help you out better with knowledge advice and information.

    • Very decent bit of kit. Definitely black it out I reckon.
    • Because people who want that are buying euros. The people with the money to buy the aftermarket heads and blocks aren’t interested in efficiency or making -7 power, they’re making well over 1,000hp and pretty much only drive them at full throttle  best way to way make money is know your customer base and what they want and don’t spend money making things they don’t want.
    • It's not, but it does feel like a bit of a missed opportunity regardless. For example, what if the cylinder head was redesigned to fit a GDI fuel system? It's worth like two full points of compression ratio when looking at modern GDI turbo vs PFI turbo. I'm pretty reliably surprised at how much less turbo it takes to make similar power out of a modern engine vs something like an RB26. Something with roughly the same dimensions as a -7 on an S55 is making absolutely silly power numbers compared to an RB26. I know there's a ton of power loss from things like high tension rings, high viscosity oil, clutch fan, AWD standby loss, etc but it's something like 700 whp in an F80 M3 vs 400 whp in an R33 GTR. The stock TF035HL4W turbos in an F80 M3 are really rather dinky little things and that's enough to get 400 whp at 18 psi. This just seems unwise no? I thought the general approach is if you aren't knock limited the MFB50 should be held constant through the RPM range. So more timing with RPM, but less timing with more cylinder filling. A VE-based table should accordingly inverse the VE curve of the engine.
    • I've seen tunes from big name workshops with cars making in excess of 700kW and one thing that stood out to me, is that noone is bothering with torque management. Everyone is throwing in as much timing as the motor can take for a pull. Sure that yields pretty numbers on a dyno, but it's not keeping these motors together for more than a few squirts down the straight without blowing coolant or head gaskets. If tuners, paid a bit more attention and took timing out in the mid range, managed boost a bit better, you'll probably see less motors grenading. Not to name names, or anything like that, but I've seen a tune, from a pretty wild GT-R from a big name tuner and I was but perplexed on the amount of timing jammed into it. You would have expected a quite a bit less timing at peak torque versus near the limiter, but there was literally 3 degrees of difference. Sure you want to make as much as possible throughout the RPM range, but why? At the expense of blowing motors? Anyhow I think we've gone off topic enough once again lol.
    • Because that’s not what any of them are building these heads or blocks for. It’s to hold over over 1000hp at the wheels without breaking and none of that stuff is required to make power
