A good conditioner. I use Meguiars Gold Class leather conditioner around three-four times a year and avoid the sun where possible. Otherwise, I just gauge it by how dry it looks and give it another whack.

Sun is a big one.. Wherever possible protect it from the sun.

I used to use meguiars products, but found they left the surface very shiny looking and not natural feeling, I have been using zaino products for a few years now after advice from a car detailer, I've been happy with their stuff.

Zaino you say? Hmmm. Always happy to try something new if it's better.

:) it also smells like leather.. Which is a bonus.

Don't think you will find it at your average supercheap/autobarn. I had to order it from one of the car detailing suppliers online.

Meguiars and all other on the shelf auto producs are substandard "avereage crap!" will not remove stains but rather discoulor leather! go to your local Horse sadle retailer and get:

  1. effax® Leather-Cream-Soap
  2. Effax Leather Balsam

Top notch, supiriour quality used by Ferari, AMG, Lambougini etc Car show detailers. It reguvinates soft and hard leather sadles from worn to new!! and is around $20 each for about 100 applications!

I even use it on our leather sofa! it's jaw dropping amazing!!!!!

Just be careful with some Sadle products. Auto leather is coated to help protect it from UV. Some non-auto leather cleaners will strip this coating

Pretty much all automotive leather is coated with polyurethane and needs the right product. Creams and balms won't absorb and will sit on top of the coating, looking oily and attracting dirt
