So, anyone else get done?

Apparently it was in a 50 zone.

I saw the camera, checked my speed, and thought... "just over 60, no worries!"

64 in a 50 zone, $149 and 1 point.

I did the crime, I'll do the time and pay the fine.

4 roads meet that roundabout, three out of four are 60 km/hr zones.

I knew this for a fact, so I assumed about the 4th... I was wrong.

As they say, assumption is the mother of all F uckups!

Might be my paranoia but it sounds a bit coincidental to put a speed camera on that road on the day of the dyno day.

Lucky for me I rocked up to Jazmac on the Saturday before coz I got my dates completely wrong - busy at work is my excuse! :D I then forgot all about going on the right day!!

I remeber a dyno day a while back at Morpowa, there was a speed camera jsut around the corner as everyone was leaving, luckily someone called and everyone took it easy

Nit hard for the cops to read the forums and plan many weeks in advance where to put speed camera's

I am waiting for the day they rock up to a dyno day and start filling out defect notices.......

yeah I hope we weren't doing the same speed and the letters are in the mail :)

Chris32: The cops were informed by JAZMAC that there was going to be a dyno day there, many weeks in advance - so there is NO WAY it could be a coincidence. Yet another we shouldn't ever share details of our activities with the fuzz.

My 2c: 50km/h speed limits are just flat out useless, especially in a semi-industrial area like this one was. Where is the proof that the 50km/h change has had any effect on the road toll? /end rant.

I agree, you try and co-operate with them, and they turn around and screw you over, and the cops wonder why they don't have much respect from modded car owners.

Did anyone see in the latest Autosalon mag, those guys went to a track day and there where cops in the pits taking details of all the road registerd cars - its getting beyond a joke, and one day, mark my words, there will be a undercover cops at a dyno day doing the same thing. Maybe this has already happend - who knows???

Same goes for drift days, I am sure there are more than a few swine at these events, and its only going to get worse

TOTAL :bs!:

surely you guys in SA don't have it as bad as us Victorians??.. we have become ammune to the cops, the State "Labour" Goverment and the EPA screwing import owners. However the results of a community backlash (not just the "Hoons") against mainly the cops and the State Gov, seem to be showing as more and more speak up.

sorry for ya chop

andy, the proofs have been established in the UK; 50kph is a load of crap, caused more accidents and give the police force a pay rise! The 50kph limit has been retracted in the UK or so I've been told by the media :)

There is no common sense when it comes to speed limit these days. It's a joke to see

-50kph on Days Road, Regency

-60kph on Port Road and Anzac Highway

..just to name a few of my daily frustrations.

There were so much BS from the government and media before the 50kph legislation. Do you guys recall the "think about the impact campaign on TV" where it showed the breaking distance and rear end collision speed of 2 old ?Falcons. The one with the first car breaking distance at 60kph and the second car breaking distance at 70kph and the rear end collision. This was a load of crap. What it fails to show media is if the second car was to travelled at 60kph the accident still happen because the second car will take the same distance to stop. Therefore the front of the second car will stop by the time it reaches the front of the 1st car. Now the first car occupy the last bit of the stopping distance of the second car the accident is designed to occurr....bloody politicians!!!

Oh and the other one where 2 cars travelled 50 and 60kph and got to a destination in the same amount of time DURING PEAK HOUR TRAFFIC IN THE CITY

My motto has always been, reduce braking distance will reduce laccident. Braking distance can be reduced by lowering car tax, brake/tyres taxes and better road condition.

Is there any politician onboard :)

My theory is the oil companies are behind the 50km/h speed limits, as it has seen my fuel consumption go up by almost 10L per week. I now drive in 3rd or 4th at 50km/h, when it was 60 I could cruise in 5th no probs - 50km/h in 5th make the car not happy :)

So in theory I use a extra 520L a year, which can only be good for the government and the oil companies. I am sure the extra strain on the environment will be seen in years to come as well

If I get dragged away into a van by dudes in black suits, you know my theory is correct

mesh: The difference between sa and vic.

We can get pulled over for no reason at all and be defected. Everywhere else in AUS, u have to do somethin illegal before u can be pulled over.

You reckon?? That's not the case here in Victoria, all the cops have to say is "This is a routine check", and that's good enough a reason.
