What Is This Sticker?

So I'm just roaming through carsales. Having a sticky beak and then I see this picture.

So the importer still has the service stickers on there.

Sure the car is advertised with 76xxxkm on it but doesn't the top sticker mean it's had the 100k service done?

And look at those dates on the services lol.

Besides we all know that the k's get wound back but it just looks like they are getting sloppy now.

Mine had a 100k timing belt sticker when it was at 90k. Done in aus by a mechanic.

I'd do the same if I bought a fresh import. Regardless of km's.

But for some reason I don't think that me Japan man or mr importer would be as nice as to do a cheeky timing belt service because it's the right thing to do.

Easier to wind back to odo to show that it still has 24 thousand km to go before the 100,000km service!

Couldn't agree more. Mine was done when it was priv imported.

Are timing belts not done on kms or age - so done because it is x years old?

For sure. All services are xx km or xx years.

Could be a rare occurrence.

Well if the car is however many years old enough to require a new timing belt isn't it a sign it has been looked after rather than it has been clocked?

Very true. But I doubt it. I also doubt the car only got driven 4xxxkm in 3 years. But hey, miracles happen

I think that timing belt sticker is the one that's on the car from factory.

The replacement one has another line of writing below with a spot to note the odometer reading.

Jiffo was spot on, that 100k sticker is just the one saying that's when the timing belt should be changed. Will have been on there from the factory
