hello guys, i am in the mist of collecting parts for my r34 gtt.
i am chasing around 270rwkw when i have finished with final safe tune.
i would go more but not ready to go down forged internals path yet.
i have done a bit of research on forums and clutch spercific websites.
i have ruled out PB and Xtreme clutches but have heard great things about both but mainly the PB clutches. just not a fan of the Xtreme.
I use the car as a weekender and every other day but it's not the daily so I am after an aggressive clutch
i am leaning towards the Exedy sports tuff range, either:
cushion button:post-120404-0-09492200-1433750039_thumb.jpg
or
(pucked) button:post-120404-0-89039500-1433750323_thumb.jpg
I am probably after the pucked button clutch only because I love a good old clutch kick every so often, and some spirited driving, looking to track only once or twice yearly, not a fan of a solid burnout (using my car lol)
my questions are:
1. is the button clutch just redicoulous for clutch control (1b. once learnt to use it?)?
2. what life span is expected from both?
3. which would best qualify for my needs?
4. machine flywheel or get a new lightened one included in kit? (difference?)
I usually am a sucker for overkill on parts but I always take a step back and be realistic about which would be best suited but this has got me stuck.
that being said I have a wildcard clutch that I keep coming across is the nismo super coppermix twin plate clutch:post-120404-0-86083900-1433749494.png
researched a little into it and I've gathered it is capable of high power (as I've gathered with twin plates) but has easy pedal control which is leaps an bounds ahead of any other.
a lot of dollars to put down obviously but I only want to buy once, being the nismo clutch is double almost triple the amount of the exedys.
only question I have for the twin plate nismo is I have heard it is noisey.
is this only on the gtr 6 speed gearbox or it will be the same on the ER34 5 speed?
please let me know what you have and your experiences.
(PM me for tein coilovers, rays volk racing f zero challenge wheels, r34 grill with nismo badge)

You can fit the coppermix in an r34 gtt no worries..
Its has a great feel for a daily clutch but may be a little noisy -
I've HAD NPC Clutch and highly recommend it, feels like a stock clutch and takes a thumping.

I have an Exedy cushion button at the moment, pushing 268rwkw.
I highly recommend it.
it is NOT a "button" clutch, (Which is in and out) (this is hard to drive)
You definitely drive it as a daily -
I've been through a drift day and alot of street drifting and is still smooth

My recommendation is NPC organic or a exedy cushion button

will look into npc a little.

what sort of noise and noise loudness? when does it occur? i have read when in nuteral just on nuteral.

it is driven every other day not my daily though so not a big hassle with the on off type. i wish i could afford to test them all lol.

i will add that i live in rural victoria and dont have alot of fully stopped moments meaning heavy revving for the clutch to not stall me out and bugger all traffic incase i have hill roll backs.

Nismo twin isnt noisy mate I just put one in the other day and actually still am quite suprised how quiet and soft the pedal is and how easy it is 2 to drive if you wearnt the one who installed the clutch you could mistaken it for a stock clutch youd never pick its a twin but as you said if you got the budget for it its a great clutch.
