Possible Hole In Transmission?

My Car ( 1996 r33 gts25t 5 speed manual ) has had a slow leak for a while. I haven't been able to pinpoint where it's coming from or if it's gearbox oil or engine oil. the leak drips down from the front of the transmission and I noticed that there is a hole right where it drips from. I don't know if that hole is supposed to be there or if it's not.I have attached a photo of the hole. Maybe someone can tell me what that is and if it's supposed to be there.

No oil in there. That's a drain hole for the clutch

Engine rear main seal.

It could be the front seal in the gearbox (i think its actually a gasket around the thrust bearing carrier) but unlikely. My first thought is rear main seal

My mate has the same leak, he diagnosed it as rear main and changed it. Since then it's no longer leaking

Dropped a Pulsar gearbox on the weekend. You'd be hard pressed to tell where that oil came out of

if its not from the back of your rocker covers dripping down then most likely is your rear main

You know what I think it might be the rocker arm covers. I just looked at the back of both of them and there is a lot of oil build up which could be dripping down. I really hope it's the rocker arm cover gaskets because that is a hell of a lot easier to fix than a rear main seal

I would definitely be replacing the cam cover gaskets before the rear main!
