Hi guys, i was replacing the hicas with a lock bar, i managed to pull off the rhs side of the tie rod.

But than the other side was a pain! its stuck inside the hicas unit, the tie rod wont budge at all, almost like they put thread locker on it, is it seized inside the threads?

i undid the tie rod ends by leaving the hicas still bolted up to the car, makes it easier, but after hours of swearing i took off the unit an called it a day

Kinda feel like cutting up the hicas unit just to free up the tie rod lol

Here's a thread of my adventures with HICAS delete with some tips on getting the darned rods off: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448795-replacing-r34-diff-bushes-whats-involved/

Having some proper tools like a Pitman Puller Arm will help. Good luck.
