Got income protection insurance a while ago... Went to use it once then I read the fine print and saw how limited it's uses are. Would be a good safety net if you had a mortgage and family though. Cant let Little timmys Wesley college fees get out of hand if something happens.

I know of someone who's been frauding the shit out of that. Had a 250k income when they signed up for it years ago and had been maintaining the premiums ever since in spite of no longer earning that amount for years, then when they "couldn't work anymore", suddenly 20k a month free money.

Yeah the old contracts were badly drawn up and there are actually a lot of people in that situation. Insurance companies eventually wised up and closed the loopholes. Contracts these days are much tighter.
