well its taken a month, a bunch of headaches and more questions than answers, but my telstra cable is finally setup.

comparison:

Is it worth the trouble and an extra $10 a month? if it can maintain over 10mb/s 24/7 then yes.

The provided modem/router is pretty useless... wont tell you speeds or chart usage or even let you change login username (wtf, stuck on admin forever). Now just to figure out if I can use my Fritzbox for Wifi only...

If you're into gaming, it's worth the upgrade just for the better ping

So is this shit? Never been impressed by our internet speeds and we have had this Optus Cable for the last 6+ years.

Yes that's pretty shit, Optus should be able to provide you 30mbps down 1 mbps up pretty easily - worth a phone call

30 down 1 up is considered 'standard' cable speed and 100 down 2 up is considered 'ultiamte' cable speed which you'll need to pay extra for but still possible on cable.

For reference my Telstra cable gets about 30-35 down and 1 up

Leeroy has a special situation where he has reasons for the shitty-er cable speed I'm sure :D

Edit: Basically what Simon said

becoz Rowville. one of those suburbs that sprawled too long ago to be completely f**ked in infrastructure so NBN wasn't a priority *cough* pakenham berwick westernburbs *cough*

internet was out from 8pm to 11:30pm last night... Telstra didnt list any outages. oh well, long as its nothing on my end.

he was probably vaccinated as a child. so we've come full circle.

vaccinations lead to autism. autism leads to rape culture. rape culture leads to Social Justice Warriors. Social Justice Warriors may or may not vaccinate their kids.

VWL, i ordered a CBA credit card through Netbank, order wasnt progressing so I had to go into a branch and put in a new order. The lady kept screwing up the amounts in every field (didnt seem deliberate, just clumsy) and now I've got my card the credit limit is more than double what I asked her to enter.

No doubt she would get a kick-back for that. Do I change it and make a complaint? or ignore it and just be bawler? im pretty good with credit, not sure if its an added risk if card goes missing or scammed.

U'll be rite m8

I've had a 27k limit for about 5 years now, limit doesn't mean anything just dont go buy a car on credit card

Limit is what matters re: borrowing power (As you have the ability to draw on it in full at any time)

Most likely scenario (apart from f**kup) is the specific product has a minimum limit, which you given as you had shown adequate serviceability in the app.

but if the bank person makes commission on selling credit cards... then why have a limit field at all when applying? its like selling a house for $600k, then the real estate agent writing $1.2mil on the books just for that % bonus.

in short

so... they just put it down as extra so that im more likely to have to pay interest to the bank? if she gets nothing out of it, then why f**k with my application?

I'll probably have to decrease it eventually if ever getting a mortgage or large loan.

e.g. The specific card has a minimum of say $5k and this is noted in the app form, however you want $2.5k they will have to give you $5k provided you can service it.

Not however saying it wasn't simply a f**kup

What difference does it make if you don't actually use the limit?

Effects nobody

How do you pay extra interest to a bank if you haven't drawn the funds?

That's like complaining that you have been given the ability to drive your car on both eastlink and citylink when you only wanted the ability to drive on eastlink, i.e. fkin retarded
