Went and inspected a Honda Jazz for the Mrs last night at 5pm. Said I was interested, just needed to discuss details with her etc. Emailed 12pm today saying I will come this afternoon and put a deposit down and it's sold.... Too slow junior. Shits me, but what can you do.

You would think this issue would be noticed fairly quickly and then recalled or at worst, only affected a few months production. Surely ford are on top of it now...

They're still getting their heads around it

Sorry it's a day or two late

Ended up cancelling my shitty ADSL at new rental place (NBN 6-9 months away but wouldn't be surprised if it actually is 1-2 years) bought a 200GB data sim from Optus for $70 month no contract

Before: 3 download / 1 upload mbps PING: 20ms-ISH

After: 25 download / 6 upload mbps PING: 30ms-ish

The only down side is 200GB limit vs unlimited data.. which is pointless anyway with such shit speeds.

tl;dr if you have shitty ADSL go get a Optus 4G sim and wack it in a 4G modem

Well my house had NBN disconnected for 2 weeks while changing ISP. Good times.

NBN couldn't remotely do shit with the modem, so had to get a tech out. Then he'd done his work but something else happened (or slow response) and easter break hit. 3 days after holidays it was back on.

New router is shit though. Barely get signal on my phone to other side of house through like 3 walls. That's on 2.4Ghz because I disabled 5ghz, 5ghz supposed to be shorter range but will try it and see if signal improves.

Yeh 5ghz is a shorter range BUT more things use 2.4ghz so sometimes 5ghz is better to run on. Just try and test both out. Also pro tip: don't put modem near the microwave

I need a new modem as well, the one my republic give you is so shit.

not had to buy one for years as been living off the modem that optus Cable used as they kept sending me new ones every few years and worked a treat.

what are good and bad these days? had a good run with netgear back when I used to buy them.

Netgear still seem to be pretty standard / decent

Depends how crazy you want to go I guess, the Asus ones look good too

I use a Sophos XG105w at home

Was checking out Unit prices where I bought 3-4 years ago (Clayton) now that I don't get around the area anymore, soo surprising what similar places are going for now :O tempting as to sell would easily be around 200k in the pocket after deducting the remaining mortgage & selling costs.. Considering it to then use as a deposit for building / buying our own 'proper', "forever" house.. but still like that it's a nest egg, I guess we could use the equity of it to borrow on? is that a stupid idea?

It's what everyone else does, therefore it must be a good idea!

If your current rental is profitable, then you have no reason to sell. Different if you were older or something and wanted dream home.

Only if you’re willing to build a “Grand Design” worthy house Leigh.

Na, if you can afford it, and set on living in a place forever, go for it.

I know a few people who've done it and loved it. But the cars are thrashed, if you care about things being mickey mouse.

I did the Mario kart thing and that was the most fun I have had in a looooong time. It's great value.

    • Hey, yeah I really like the color. Only paint I'd rather have is KN6, but those are expensive. Right now I'm trying to get the car to the point where I can get it tuned to 370hp so the whole setup can be driven legally, and pass the next inspection that is already due anyway. Beyond that lots of rust fixing I'm afraid, winter project is most likely going to be a front end teardown and fixing the strut tower rust. I know these can be driven daily but I don't think I will do so anytime soon. Will post a build thread soon with a list of issues and futute plans.   Cheers
    • Wanted to reply to this topic. I'm in the somewhat same boat with our Stagea. I'm trying to install a different rear diff. The Stagea/Skyline uses mounts on top of the rear diff for the ATTESA pump. Any way you can relocate the pump? I did find this kit https://theskylineshed.com/products/nissan-oem-attesa-mounting-kit-to-suit-r32-r33-r34
    • So here's the deal, my wife picked up an S2 AWD Stagea. Super cool, clean car. Looks like the owner in Japan went track spec as it's got some heavy modifications including Exedy twin disk, tension rods, coilovers, GTR brakes, oil cooler & a Nismo 2 way rear diff. Now, cool mods for sure. But, she is just using this as a casual daily driver. The 2 way rear is AGGRESSIVE. It also has solid subframe bushings & poly diff bushings. So that doesn't help either. So far I've tried changing the diff fluid to the correct fluid. Even tried a little friction modifier. No help. This thing clunks, skips the tires & has some slight whine/NVH when driving. Might sound like I'm being picky, but just trying to find a better solution. Here in the states, it's impossible to find a Stagea rear diff. No luck. I do have a 300zx non-turbo diff. Same ratio, 5 bolt axles. On the Stagea, you need both front & rear diff ratios to match. This car is a 4.083. I'd like to just swap a normal rear diff into this thing. Nothing fancy. Even open diff is fine. She's not tracking the car LOL The difference is that the ATTESA pump mounts to the top of the rear diff. There are 3 total mounting points for the pump on top of the diff. With all this being said, what would be the best way to go about this? I could remove the Stagea diff & see if I could get somebody to possibly weld the 3 tabs/mounting points onto the 300zx diff so we could mount the pump on the 300zx diff. I could swap the internals from the 300zx into the Stagea diff but this is not in my comfort zone. Is it possible to mount the ATTESA pump to the underside of the car? Sorry for the paragraph. Just trying to figure out how to go about this. Any help is much appreciated! Stagea Differential - Note two top tabs, one bolt hole for ATTESA pump mounting   300zx Diff - No mounting tabs Also found this mounting kit ?? https://theskylineshed.com/products/nissan-oem-attesa-mounting-kit-to-suit-r32-r33-r34
