Not for a few more years at least. The OPEC announcement won't change a whole lot it just restored some confidence that something can be done to hopefully limit the Saudis and Russians trying to undercut the Americans. I think the Saudis are in trouble soon...
But this unconventional thing is a double edged sword. The more that is found and is profitable, the less finite the resource is. So looking 5 years down the track, I don't think itll get back to $100 a barrel. Everyone involved is looking to retire before then.
As for undervalued... Otto energy is exploring in 3 different locations, their great bear section of Alaska is next door to 88e and is further ahead in exploration but worth 4.5cents still. Due for some results in dec-jan. If it's not amazing news 88e will take a big hit.

OPEC announcement is just an example of how much people will move on the smallest of news. Off that alone you've seen 10% intra week. When big news hits they move big, which gave us the ten bagger last time. With that kind of drastic movement, a dollar within 5 years is no more unrealistic than expecting the company to succeed. There is plenty of big news to come, but the long term ace up my sleeve for this one has always been the price of oil currently being in a slump because of the Saudi's greed and pride, which is eventually going to screw them over when they realise how cheaply they've f**ked off their second biggest export (first being female oppression amiright). 88E's resources are so far looking like a conventional/unconventional hybrid...profitable at levels much lower than your average fracking operation; it was actually said not long ago that current levels would be profitable, let alone a return to glory, which IMO is inevitable. I won't go into huge detail here, but 88E's resources are looking way more attractive than most unconventionals including neighbouring Otto. If Basinki is right we are in the absolute sweet spot for drilling.

Basically, I'm happy that you don't expect the price of oil to return quickly...I'm counting on everyone else to think the same way, as that is holding the SP down long enough for me to accumulate and rely on increases I predict will come later on and steadily drive up the SP. Long term, the share is a great prospect to me, but my 200%+ short term profits have been made from knee jerk reactions of pessimistic investors turned optimistic, so bring on more!

Early impression of the Federal RS-RR vs shagged out AD08R - a fair bit less road noise on these, I'm guessing mostly because my rears were nearly bald before I replaced. Regardless, that's still a plus for the Federals which I expected to be noisy. I know there's an improvement in noise from RS-R to RS-RR.

Gave a squirt on slightly damp road and she stuck well, but new sticky tyres will do that. Need more dry road and more time.

A big variable to test is that I've gone from 265 to 245 because I read these tyres run wide. They probably do a little, in that the 245 appears to sit where a 255 AD08R would.

Scratch that - some serious road noise above 60km/h - hoping it fades with some run in. Can't hear it unless music low/off and it IS holding 1st and 2nd on post-damp roads no problems, which is super for $180 tyres. See how long they last...

was chatting to Richo re the rs-rr on the weekend

apparently they don't heat cycle well, give them a good thrash on the track and they go off in a couple sessions.

friend was running one of the R32 GTRS on the weekend on rs-rr's as well and 2 track days in and they gone.

I don;t think I would be running them personally.

one I think i'm going to try however is the Nankang  NS-2R ,

they running them on Starr's BMW and the feedback so far has been nearly as good as RS3's for 120$ a corner.

next time I do a day will throw a fresh set on to try.

maybe your car was just tuned on a hub dyno and doesn't make much power

and yeah starr's bmw did a 1:40 around winton too n/a don't forget - pretty good!

Most of my racing happens on the street anyway, but will see at least one track day before a change. When are we at PI next?

next year..hoping to be back by then, will depend on date.

really want to go back to winton tho, as not been back since the crash and need to prove a point

That you're capable of doing a warm up lap?

Oddly, the noise of the federals went away above 80 so it's a resonance between 60 and 80. Was silent at highway speeds which is a relief...can actually go long distance without irritation.

On a wet but not raining road it held well, kicked out very slightly full throttle in second, but it was very predictable and no spin in 3rd. I'm happy with that for a dry tyre. Will try some twisties on the weekend to see what the sidewalls are all about.

Shit I didn't even start a warm up lap...that started 20 meters after the crash.

but sooner or later one must return to the sceen of the crime.

done sandown a few time and mallala just not been back there.

    • When's the rear mounted turbo kit coming? Needs dose and V8 chop idle lol.
    • I was very unimpressed with how the car came up from the A pillar forward, before I hit things (twice). It all has to go. It had to go, but now it has to go... more. So we finally found the very first Shennanigans with the entirely perfectly setup engine that had no problems being pulled apart to improve on 'was perfectly fine'. Cam bearings looked a bit... stock. Which isn't entirely bad given they were stock and this is a ~20 year old engine. So new cam bearings are on the way because it's somewhat difficult to get to this stage to do it later, and it will trash the block. It was quite unusual that it wasn't done when the perfectly new-looking VCM cam was originally installed by [unknown] What IS unusual is the cam that was installed there was advanced SIX degrees. As to why there is no way to know.. however it could have been @Dose Pipe Sutututu's mate who wanted a larger cam sound but also wanted it to come on earlier to be more usable. This is my dyno sheet with the previous setup - This cam is not supposed to peak until 7000+ RPM, according to VCM. This is what lead me down the whole 'my heads/intake setup is running out of puff and can't support the cam' line of thinking to begin with. Anyway too late now - New cam is in! It could be rather funny if this smaller cam acts like a larger cam because it isn't advanced six degrees. In the spirit of everything is working amazingly - the COMP cam required no dialling in whatsoever. It was about 0.5 degrees advanced, which seems pretty bang on. Any adjustment either way would be further out. In the spirit of everything was previously working amazingly - The timing gear that was taken out turned out to be was an N-Motion double timing chain kit, with adjustable cam gear (which is how it was 6 degrees advanced) and all looks entirely perfectly new. It also had a Torrington bearing, which was one of the reasons I ended up getting the Cloyes kit which they used in the C5R 24 hour racecar - Because I couldn't confirm what was in the engine when talking to Tony Mamo. I did believe however it was a Double chain kit of some kind... but found no supporting documentation or evidence for it.
    • I recently did this to my R33 with the full set from Car Mats Direct, they can't do the vinyl anymore that's advertised on the website due to a supplier issue so I ended up with the Black Loop Pile which looks great. I went all out with rubber sound deadening sheets from Repco and also added the sound deadening foam layer option with the carpet. Makes a world of difference and got rid of all the weird smells in the 29 year old interior. It was a bit of work but I'd 100% recommend it, Car Mats Direct had awesome customer service and quick postage. Replaced my seats with some sporty ones from Autotechnia while I was at it, feels like a new car.
    • Got the motor out and torn down. I'll be dropping off the block Monday. Luckily the scoring on Cyl6 is much less pronounced then the pictures made it out to seem. It can barely be felt. If you pass your finger over it 10x you'll barely notice it. Hopefully by some chance it will only require a honing. I'm not in the mood to buy one size larger pistons or another block. Oddly enough my 6th cylinder with the scoring has extremely clean intake valves compared to my other 5 cylinders. I'm worried the scoring was caused by too much fuel or Water/Methanol washing the cylinder. I'll review some old logs to confirm.  This was also the first time I pull an engine with the transmission still attached. It went much better then expected. I was worried my CD009 wouldn't make it easy due to its sheer size but it was much easier this way.
    • From the pictures I have when doing the job the flywheel is the same diameter, I don't think they're playing weird tricks like putting weights at the outer diameter to increase flywheel inertia or anything like that. The OEM flywheel is definitely heavier, but it's not a huge difference. Quoted weight savings of the clutch is 2 kg so I can't imagine the flywheel being lighter than ~7 kg. Kind of regret not weighing it before the clutch went into the car but as far as driveability goes I have no complaints.
