P plate Golf R gave the toot of acknowledgement after dropping behind in a rolling - is this the first non D-bag Golf owner in the history of the world?

You don't count, Hamish

Technically it's my wife's car...

God I hate the f**king thing

How long before a flight do they close check-in?
Running a bit late, had to check in via service desk, hear a call over loudspeaker for flight to melb, push through security and get to gate 5mins before the gate even opens....

45min before departure time usually.

It's the worst feeling, missed a flight once with work a while ago because I didn't check in even though I got to the airport before it had left, they gave my seat up I think from memory. Was all good in the end had a flexi ticket just got on the next one, still annoying af though

I got to Melbourne Airport and arrived at the Check In desk 15 minutes before Check In closed for a flight to Brisbane, they told me that I may not have a seat on that flight and started calling over managers and stuff to get it sorted out.

This was for a Full Fee Business Class flight (~$800) because I had to use up a bunch of flight cancellation credit that month.

Blew my mind that they'd overbook Business Class seats. FYI, Business Class on a Domestic flight is a bloody joke :P

Used to have the dirtiest bastard of a driver when I traveled a lot for work, would make the trip to and from the airport entertaining with all his Thailand stories. The dude has a wife and 2 kids as well :\ must be one of those 'open' relationships.

Ended up waiting inside the plane for 20mins anyway because they couldnt locate a pilot.

he probably had explosive diarrhea

he probably had explosive

S7 Samsung you mean?
On the flight there they said just turn off your S7 and don't charge, flight home is notify staff immediately if you know someone who has thought about owning an S7.
Bloody fear mongering is what it is.

Missed boarding for a tiger flight by 10 minutes. I had got there 45 minutes before boarding, but the flight had changed to 10 minutes earlier
than the original time. They had emailed me about the change the day before, but I didn't check my email. They wouldn't let me on the flight or refund me so I spent $400 on a qantas flight that day as I needed to get back to Perth for work. Would never use tiger again.

I was annoyed that they called boarding for a flight,

So I had to put down my Taittinger and wander up to the gate.

Surprise surprise they were not open yet.

Lucky there was another lounge near the gate (unfortunately business only) so I was able to relax have a drink, then jump the priority queue and be one of the first on the plane anyhow.

airports suck eh..

On a side note this is the first time I have had a hotel room with it's own sunroom overlooking the pool.

Should be nice to relax in the evening.

ever tried to fit your bag into the overhead locker onto a morning qantas flight.

I'm generally in the exit row so it has to go up, easier to be on first and get it sorted.

Or if a premium cabin, nice to get on, enjoy your hot towel and glass of bubbly as you settle in.

i never want to be the front of the queue at the gate... why would I want to be on the plane? the less time spent there, the better.

Only reason I can see is that you won't be stuck standing in the isle for 15 minutes waiting, trying to make your way down towards your seat and stow baggage.

Get on last, and good luck finding space for your 5 pairs of loafers in the overhead... You'll have to put them 5 seats down, and you just know that bogan bloke is going to scuff your sh%t up when he removes his boogie board bag.

why is it the last person on the plane also has the largest bag.

then stops and stares around in stupidity going what do I do now.

Nearly as bad as being in the FreqFlyer lane for security and they still have to rummage to the bottom of their bag for a laptop.

Haha cause clearly if this individual followed rules he would be on time with a suitably sized bag.

    • Well, turns out not a lot happened from back then to now, between life again, and working on 3 separate other cars (only one of which was mine, and will now be departing the household soon).   So I decided with the whole "don't go outside, it's a cyclone!" Turning in to being not a whole lot, I ventured down to the garage, found a couple of water leaks in the shed (the main one I've already fixed), and then ended up "stuck" as it started pouring rain, and I didn't want to walk back inside in the pouring rain. This meant I ended up taking a look at the Skyline, and trying to work out what past Matt had been upto. I retraced a few things out from scratch, added the rest of the power feeds in that I needed for the indicators, and headlights. Double checked I'd wired a few things up correctly (and worked out how I wired a few things to begin with), updated my sparse notes. Added one of the ground points. Oh, and got really really dusty, as the car is quite dirty. Wrote up quickly what should be left for me to do with the wiring too. Adding the below photos more for my records than anything else. I need to make myself a proper book for the car that details everything, and how I've done it, but for now, this is my records... The third image is my most important one for me, and I need to draw it out into a proper schematic eventually. The last photo is my re-written list, I'd have put it on the white board, except I had to take the white board down to fix one of the water leaks.
