Most fixed back seats use side mounts, perhaps that is what he means.

With bolting side mounts onto a bottom mount rail you get the problem of jacking the seat up.

yes true if its side mounted seat you cant use this rail.

so assuming tight ass seats @ $700 + $500 for your rails = $1300 ..

so cheap .. :)

rofl since when is 700 + 500 = 1300 :P

anyway, seats start at $460 a pair....

so basically r31 rails are the same as the r32/r33 seat rails then?

i'm interested ..just working on the budget

Thanks

The bride rails/frame has r31/r32/r33 written on them, but i dont think it will fit the aus delivered r31's someone said.

Sorry for the delay on these place making the jig has been flat out and i have been away for work also.

Getting first set made up this coming week so will have pricing on then and so my seats can finially go in.

This was me :D and is *confirmed* I tried to fit my spare r33 seats into my aussie R31.. don't fit and I tried lots of things.. different completely.

Import (HR31) is different... so if they say R31 they will be for import R31.. NOT local as above.

how much are the rails?

After finding out the distinct lack of seat rails available if you own a R31,R32,R33 and want to put in aftermarket seats in, I am offering a group buy for a set of copies which I will get a metal engineering shop to copy of the bride seat rails I am about to purchase for the recaros to go into my car. Recaro or no other company in Aus has any rails available either.

If you want to put in Recaro,Bride, Cobra, Sparco etc seat in ur line then you will need a set of these rails as the floor plan on the lines are at different elevations near the seat area and the drivers side seat belt holder is apart of the stock seat rails. You will not be able to adapt any other rails unless u custom cut and shut them, and then still the seat wont sit at the right elevation or angle and wont be as safe as these properly made ones I can get done.

If interested reply on here and then I can get a good price from the fabricator

.

Count me in INASNT, I just bought Troys Velo Esprit seat and if it can be fitted with these rails i'll get one drivers side for R32 please.

PM me with a price and available date as soon as you can.

Cheers mate.

Ok finially got the seats put into my car with the original bride rails.

Pics of how the seats sit in the car with the new seat frame/rails

The rails make the driver side seat sit up a bit more than the stock seat would with aftermarket seats which is better than the other rails around that make the seats sit alot lower than normal.

Only one set of rails were made, which wasnet a easy bloody job either.

New rails are made with SASS rollers and fabricated frame which is welded.

Will get pics of the rails soon.

Only 1 set has been made so i could put my seats in my car, but jig is all setup to make others.

Price looking at $250 per rail/frame which will bolt straight to the floor plan or a r33/r32 and import r31 but you might have to slightly modify the bolt locations to suit ur type of seat as recaro, sparco, cobra all have different hole centers on the base of their seats, which is not a hard job.

Please reply again if ur interested so i can take numbers down.

I am waiting for mitchxr6 and someonestolecc to confirm both, with those 2 i have 3 others wanting both also.

Only one has been made so far, and hopefully 2 more next week and then how many more people want.

    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
