Hi guys,

I have an issue with my R33 and I am looking to see if anyone else has had the same problem.

I am taking the car over to my tuner (DVS-JEZ) in two weeks to further diagnose the issue, but I figure it can't hurt to ask on here as well.

Car:

1996 ECR33

Stock motor

Nistune

GT3076 .82- 45mm external gate on housing, stock manifold

ID1000 injectors

Bosch 040 in-tank pump

98 pump fuel

Turbosmart FPR

Z32 AFM

Splitfire coils

Blitz return-flow cooler

3" straight through exhaust no cat,

E-Boobs street

I ran the car at NSW Time Attack in June and the car developed the following pain in the arse:

- Car ran beautifully for almost 10 laps

- Then it started to lose horsepower.

- At WOT the turbo would make close to target boost but would not accelerating as it would normally (almost felt like I had reefed the handbrake on)

- It I kept driving, within one lap it would start to misfire, backfire and carry on badly on boost (and with pretty much any load)

- Brought back into the pits, refuelled and went back out- same misfire condition immediately.

- Allowed it to cool down for an hour or so, the misfire condition would appear after 2-3 laps.

- Allowed it to cool overnight and did another session first thing in the morning- Same deal after almost 10 laps.

It seems to me in my uneducated mind that it is heat related... but what exactly, I have no idea.

My first suspect was fuel pump as it has become very noisy recently (particularly when hot)

I have checked intercooler piping for leaks/tears and none detected

Have not been able to check fuel pressure when driving

Any thoughts or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Monday folks!
