Seeing as a group of us are heading down to hobart on the 31st fro Koolism, i think it would be appropriate to maybe meet up, or go for a small cruise. i have discussed this with a few guys off NS.com and they are keen as mustard to do it.

cruise wouldn't be huge long ass thing cos i know all you guys like to fill up at certain places (don't blame you).

Never know i might even have my car running by then and registered etc

let me know your interest so i can try make arrangements

Its also the date of "International seventh skyline day" ie R31 7th gen skyline - 07/31

Not sure but there is something being organised for that through the R31 club guys but the msgboard there has been hard to get onto lately.

PHat MR30- As i said to you on ns.com i am very keen, I will talk to work today to make sure i am either working until 4.30pm on that day or get the day off all together.

What sort of time do you reckon you guys will make it down to Hobart?

There's heapd of places to meet up:

New Town Plaza, New Town

No Frills Car Park, Moonah

CSIRO Car Park, Battery Point

Eastlands Car Park, Rosny

Beachside Apartments Car Park, Sandy Bay

somewhere close to town preferably... Newtown, CSIRO, Sandybay

as you would understand its not cheap to drive al the way down from launceston and then get lost trying to find something out in the sticks

yeh fair point. I reckon CSIRO would be good coz most of their employees only work mon-fri so the car park should be close to empty. That car park isnt that big, but i reckon it will do the job and its only bout 3 mins to the centre of the city. New Town Plaza has the room, but there will be heaps of other people there as all those shops are open 7 days. Its up to you guys really, i dont mind.

The car park does have a little gutter section, but its dead flat. Shouldnt be a problem, but ill go down there tomorrow in my 180 and have a good look. My 180 is pretty low and Chris Button's old 180 (red 94 model with kit and wing), which some of the Platinum boys will know, now driven by a guy i know fitted easily in there last week. Ill get back to you on the driveway situation tho.

Also what time do you guys reckon you'll make it down to Hobart? You thinking like midday or more like late arvo (4-5pm)?

Yeah the uni car park is pretty empty on a sat, shouldnt see any probs for low cars driving in or out.

PHat MR30- mate just let us know closer to the 31st what time you guys expect to arrive so i can let everyone from ns.com and others the time, place etc.

Ok looks a go then

We will meet about 11am at hungry jacks and leave 1130/12 with a stop in campbell town for food, photo opportunitys.

and sounds like commerce dept at Sandy Bay Uni is a go too

Righto sounds good PHaT MR30. Ill let all the boys down here in Hobart know that the cruise is a definate now. Just gotta get some definate's from more people down here now.

Ill let people know that we will meet at around 3pm at the Commerce Car Park at Uni of Tas. Obviously give or take about 30 mins to give you guys plenty of time to get down here.

What do you all think of a cruise out to Richmond via Grasstree Hill (windy road, touge style)and then all meetup again at the car park just over the old historic bridge near the picnic area? Should be enough spaces to accommodate everyone.

Yeah sounds cool then from Richmond u can go over the back towards sorell, another windy rd then can cruise back along the hwy from sorell to hobart. What do u reakon?? I'l organise people 4 about 3 at uni carpark

Yeah forgot about the road from Richmond to Sorell. Make sure you come up to the Commerce car park, not the main car park. You probably know that, just making sure thats all.

I guess we could all meet up again at Sorell Woolies car park, should be enough spaces at the back of the car park near Woolies Petrol Plus.

    • I believe Unimog is the only vehicle that has it (from the manufacturer). I haven't seen aftermarket permanently connected kits, but I haven't looked either.
    • Ha ha ha, can't overthink when exhausted... Oh how I wish I had that power! I can be absolutely dead set shot, and my brain will still go "we need a good 3 or 4 hours to just think about everything and anything before you may sleep... My biggest thing is making sure I give myself enough sleep. I don't operate on even 7 hours of sleep! I attempt to give my body 9.5hours sleep a night to be able to function. I don't sleep the whole 9.5, but I need to make sure I offer a big window. I also take a single supplement, which is to help with long term health, and fighting inflammation, and I notice it helps massively. Especially me sleeping, and just less "achey" in the body. Have also kicked sugar, and gluten. A majority of people with ADHD don't go well with gluten. It causes a really interesting natural opioid overdose in the brain, which causes bodily issues and sensory issues.
    • Yeah that's what I meant, permanently connected not manual
    • Yep. But typically that's just run a hose down to the tyre while stationary.   Oh and the Unimog will automatically air up and air down tyres from the onboard computer for you too.
    • There was a good video somewhere, maybe Kurzgesagt that linked physical activity to ADHD/Anxiety/Insomnia etc. Basically the body WILL spend energy doing something if you don't spend it doing anything physical. It isn't fun, but I personally have noticed I've never been overthinky, or unable to sleep if I'm physically exhausted from doing a lot. The musings around it seem to indicate that this is one of the reasons/mechanism that physical activity improves mental health/wellbeing etc, by more or less not using that 'extra' energy to overthink, be anxious, inflammation, etc. There's also the fact that every obnoxious exerciser ever says it's great and helps which is extremely annoying. Like people who say the same thing about travel being the best thing ever. I mean, they clearly are, but blah. I started doing a LITTLE myself (think 3x15min per week) and honestly did notice the benefits, aiming at life quality when older. Which is sooner than you think. Getting something into your routine that you can actually make a routine has helped me at least. This post brought to you by procrastination between sets.
